Golders Green can only blame themselves for dropping a point to Slough in the Herts and Middlesex League game on Saturday at Claremont Road.
They had sufficient chances to have won with ease, but failed to accept them. As individuals the side performed well, but they did not function as a team. Three players in the side, however, could be marked as outstanding : Fisher, Lucas and Keen.
Slough had a lively, fast and hard-kicking side. Early on they gave a taste of their methods when Lucas was called upon to make a difficult save from Mounteney, following which he cleared from Jones.
The Green had three corners in succession, but 15 minutes later BROWN, from a ball which Lucas had parried, scored from close in.
The Green equalised when after a goal kick the ball went to FISHER, who put in a long, dropping shot which fell behind Russell and entered the net.
The second half of the game was well contested, but there was no scoring.
