Without further ado our catch-up is complete as we take a look back at 28th February and matches on that day in Hendon’s history.

Today, in the first of three pieces, we take our look back at the club’s on-field performances to 27th February and begin way back in the depths of the first winter of World War 1, 1915 with a local friendly derby against Shepherd’s Bush in which recent addition F K Gooding netted the game’s solitary goal.

Following the tedium of yesterday’s look back across the past 113 years of Hendon Football Club’s history the 26th February brings with it far better cheer with plenty more wins, goals and happy memories.

As we edge closer to the end of February today’s look back on this day in history takes us to 25th February and a day that has produced a miserly 2.

Southern League Statement

The Southern League have this evening released the following statement confirming that subject to FA Council approval the 2020/1 season will be curtailed.

After the rampant disaster of yesterday’s retrospective today things improve markedly today, 24th February.

On This Day: February 23rd

Those of a particularly nervous disposition will want to avoid today’s round up of the on-field history of Hendon Football Club with the statistics making particularly grim reading.

Today sees us take our look back ‘on this day’ to 22nd February and things begin in 1913 with a Middlesex League Premier Division match against Page Old Boys which was won 4-1.

On This Day: 21st February

Today’s look back at action on 21st February is top and tailed competitively by Middlesex Senior Cup ties against Barnet.

On This Day: 20th Febraury

Onwards, then, to 20th February and for the first time in a couple of days, no humiliating scorelines to write of.

On This Day: 19th February

19th February has seen the club in action on no fewer than 21 occasions and with it, a record number of goals scored so far.

On This Day: 18th January

Moving on apace to 18th February and a day that has had it all.

On This Day: February 17th

The 17th February has seen the Greens take to the field on no fewer than 18 occasions over the years beginning in 1912 with a London League match against West London Old Boys that we unfortunately do not have the scoreline for.

HFC Snowball Lottery

The Hendon FC Snowball Lottery is a cheap and easy way to be in with a chance of winning monthly prizes of hundreds of pounds and an annual prize of around £1,000 all the while supporting Hendon Supporters Trust.

Today’s look back on this day in the club’s history begins on 16th February 1915 and a wartime friendly against South London side West Norwood at The Avenue Ground which finished 2-0 to Hampstead Town thanks to a pair of goals from G Fox.

Today sees us look back at matches that have occurred on 15th February and we begin in 1913 with a London League Division 1 match at Deptford Invicta which was won 3-2 thanks to a brace from Herbert Pike and one from Gordon Marchant.

We were delighted to hear earlier this week that the club's application for a grant under the Football Winter Survival Package has been successful.

Today’s look back in this history takes in 13th February and begins in the club’s very first season of existence in 1909.

We move our look back in history onto 12th February and a day which exceeds even yesterday in terms of goals-per-game at 4.

February 11th brings us a day which across the past 113 years has provided what is the joint second highest goal-per-game average to date at 4.

February moves into double figures and we’re able to look back on a day in which the club almost achieved double figures on a single day.

We begin our 9th February look back in 1924 with a home Athenian League derby match against Barnet and the crowd were treated to a 0-0 draw.

Our 8th February look back on this day in history begins in 1913 and the first of three friendly matches to take place, Great Western Railway taking the place of our originally intended opponents Bronze Athletic, and going down 5-3 to Hampstead Town in an entertaining match at The Avenue Ground.

Today we take a look back at matches played on this day, 7th February, since the club’s inception in 1908 and begin with a 1914 Middlesex League match against rivals Bronze Athletic.

2nd February is a day that has proven more pivotal than many in the club’s history and today’s look back begins in 1924 when a crowd of 3,000 packed into The Avenue Ground to watch a 2-2 draw with Bromley, Freddie Young and Cecil Wise scoring.
