Isaac Stones capped another impressive team performance in front of goal with his first hattrick for the club as Hendon overcame the potential banana skin of Hullbridge Sports to progress into the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup with a 7-3 win.

Stones opened the scoring in the 14th minute before skipper Jordan Williams celebrated his 29th birthday with an emphatic header to make it two five minutes later.

Reece Nicholas-Davies added a third before Oliver Spooner reduced the arrears and Stones made it 4-1 racing onto Nathan Brathwaite's pass before the break.

Hullbridge gave it a real go after the break forcing several presentable opportunities and it was no surprise when Kieran Jones made it 4-2 just past the hour mark. Hendon responded with Stones completing his hattrick as he rounded Bobby Mason before Radu Stefanoiaca made it a cool half-dozen with a well-placed header.

Taylor Lawrence made it 6-3 from the penalty spot with ten minutes remaining and all that was left was for Jack Hayes to miscue a backpass into his own net shortly before the end to complete the scoring.

The draw takes place on Monday afternoon at 1pm.
