The draw for the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup was made earlier today and we have been handed an away tie at Step 3 Berkhamsted.
This will be the first time we have played Berkhamsted in the FA Cup, given they were founded in 2009 when previous club Berkhamsted Town folded. Berkhamsted are currently in 8th place in the Southern Premier South, with a league record of P6, W3, D0, L3, F9, A10, Pts9.
We played previous club Berkhamsted Town three times in the FA Cup, in 1925-26, 1926-27, and 1954-55, winning each time. The 1926-27 match took place on the opening day of the Claremont Road ground, Hampstead (as we were then known) winning a tough match by 4-3.
The tie is scheduled to take place at Berkhamsted on Saturday 19th September, kicking off at 3pm. This will mean that a new date will be needed for the home League match with Egham Town which was originally scheduled for that date; the new date will be notified when available.
