INTRODUCTION :
Golders Green played two Herts & Middlesex League games over Easter against formidable opposition, and in each case had to admit defeat. The Green were below strength for both matches, and the cause of their undoing was lack of finishing ability and slowness in front of goal. they had ample scoring opportunities in both games, but failed to turn them to account.

EASTER SATURDAY :
At Claremont Road, before one of the best attendances of the season, the visitors gained a 3-0 victory.

It was an exceptionally fast game with some good football on both sides : Golders Green, however, failed to accept their chances --and they had many -- weak finishing costing them the points. Slough, on the other hand, were a better balanced side, and their shooting much more accurate.

Half an hour's even play had been seen before Slough opened their account ; INGRAM, in the unusual role of centre forward, shot hard : Simmonds, who played a great game in goal, was unable to hold the ball, which bounced into the net. There was no further score before half time.

After a quarter of an hour in the second half, Ingram, who was well held by Fisher, flicked the ball to C. WILLIAMS, coming up close behind him and gave him an easy opening, while five minutes from the end, INGRAM slammed home the third from close range.
