Last Saturday, Hendon continued their FA Cup journey with a fantastic 4–0 victory over Hertford Town in the Preliminary Round at Silver Jubilee Park. As a result, the Dons will progress to the First Qualifying Round, which will take place on the weekend of 5 September, with Hendon set to discover their opponents on Monday around midday.
The main talking point before kick-off was the absence of top scorer Radu Stefanoaica, who was unavailable for selection for Saturday’s tie. He was replaced in the starting eleven by Hendon’s longest-serving player, Florian Ada, who enjoyed a terrific afternoon in front of goal.
It took just 18 minutes for the striker to burst down his favoured left side before slotting the ball underneath the goalkeeper, who arguably should have done better with the low effort.
Chances were few and far between for Hendon for the remainder of the first half, with Hertford enjoying a dominant spell. After several huge chances and a loud penalty appeal from the visitors, Hendon went into the much-needed half-time break with a one-goal lead.
The interval appeared to do Hendon the world of good as they swiftly took control in the early stages of the second half. ADA picked up the ball on the left edge of the box before smashing a sublime effort into the far right corner, leaving the helpless goalkeeper with absolutely no chance.
Throughout the opening stages of the 2026/27 season, it has been clear that Hendon are thoroughly enjoying their football, and that was once again evident after the break.
Isaac STONES had already gone close on a couple of occasions before finally getting his reward in the 68th minute. Reece Nicholas-Davies brilliantly danced past four Hertford players before slipping Stones through. Despite a slightly heavy touch, Stones dragged the ball back across goal and into the far bottom corner to put Hendon 3–0 up and cruising.
NICHOLAS-DAVIES then turned scorer himself as he rounded off a terrific performance. Set up by man of the match Nathan Brathwaite, he calmly found the back of the net to score his second goal for the club and complete a memorable afternoon for the Dons.
Full-time: Hendon 4–0 Hertford Town.
A commanding performance, four excellent goals and a place in the First Qualifying Round. Another perfect week for Fisher and his team.
Next up: Bedfont Sports at 19:45 on Tuesday evening.
Come on you Dons!
