Golders Green playing St. Albans in a Herts and Middlesex League game last Saturday gave their supporters many anxious moments before they scored an equaliser -- making the score 2-2 -- four minutes before the end.
In the first half the Green were the better side , CHAPPELL scoring. Had more chances been taken a useful lead would have been built up, put punch and cohesion in attack were lacking.
After the interval, St. Albans were on top, KIRKHAM [not Kirchen as in printed report] scored with a free kick, and four minutes later RICHARDSON gave St. Albans the lead from a centre by D. Cooper.
Then came the switch -- Fisher and Rogers changed places and within a few minutes the Green had equalised by a shot from CHAPPELL. Just on time he almost scored again, but Claydon cleared.
