Golders Green were without a competition game last Saturday, and arranged a friendly fixture with St. Albans City at Clarence Park. The Green lost 2-1.

Rodwell was unfortunate in sustaining a damaged ankle midway through the first half and after the interval, moved to outside left, McCaffery taking over at inside left to release Bucci for right back.

The game was very even in a goal-less first half. Territorially the Green had more of the play, but there was little punch or cohesion in the forward line.

After the interval, play was more open, the Green still having the better of the exchanges. Following a number of scoring attempts by the Green, St. Albans got away down the left wing, Henry centring well for JUBILEE to score from close in. This was after 25 minutes.

Heartened by success, the City pressed and seven minutes later ROBINSON converted a pass from Cooper to put the home side two up. Eight minutes from the end HAWKINS scored for the Green.
