From the Hendon Times, 11 October 1940 (includes G.G. team) :
Golders Green did not realise their hope of a victory over Southall last Saturday in the Herts and Middlesex Combination, but they did at least improve their record by gaining their first draw of the season.
Golders Green have not won a match this season. Their last game was at Barnet, where they lost by 4-2, and the return match at Hendon was cancelled. A win was hoped for on Saturday, but the result was a draw with Southall, eight goals being shared.

EDITOR'S NOTE:
It will be seen from the two brief reports above that the Golders Green scorers were not named. In the Hampstead News of January 2nd 1941, a brief mid-season report is given which includes the goalscorers totals up to and including the Wood Green cup-tie on December 14th 1940. By comparing this list with the known goalscorers to mid-December, it can be ascertained that the goalscorers in this away match at Southall were A. COCHRANE, G. COLEMAN (2), and W. BOSTON. Goal times are only given to reflect the order of scoring during the match.
