Golders Green, entertaining Hitchin Town, at Claremont Road on Saturday, experienced the biggest home defeat they have suffered for many seasons.

Hitchin Town, who won by 9 goals to nil, have an amazing goal average against the Green for the last three games between the two clubs.

In three games, two of which were at Claremont Road, they have scored 30 goals against the Green's 4 goals, an average of 10 goals per match.

During the five minutes which followed the re-start, the Green's play became so ragged and the match became so farcical that it is impossible to give serious criticism of the game.

In those five minutes Hitchin scored another three goals, and each one of them could have been stopped if the Green had refused to let themselves become unnerved.
