Golders Green, in defeating Redhill in an Athenian League match at Claremont Road on Saturday, rose to fourth place in the League Table.
There was no scoring in the first half. In the second, after 13 minutes, FAIR at outside-left, received from Topp, and scored the first goal. Four minutes later, Stroud got through and in the mix-up, Griffiths put the ball to GLASER, who scored the second. The Green attacked continuously, and after 27 minutes Stroud shot, but Boxall stopped the ball. GLASER came up and scored the third.
After 37 minutes Stroud put across a low centre, and KING, dashing forward, scored the fourth. The visitors were defending desperately when the final whistle went.
The Green's defence was at its best, there was excellent understanding between Lynch and Williams; both backs kicked a good length, and the half-back line was grand; the forwards had the defence at full stretch throughout the second half. Stroud put up a great game, King was an excellent partner. Griffiths was brilliant, and Fair was a continual source of worry to Emblen.
