Niko Muir has announced that he has decided to leave the club following the end of the 2025/26 season. This brings an end to his long association with the club that began in 2013 and spanned four spells.

After failing to make an appearance in his first spell as a 19 year old, Niko played for the likes of Northwood, Wingate & Finchley, and VCD Athletic before returning to the club at the start of the 2016/17 campaign. He scored his first Hendon goal in an FA Cup tie at home to Cheshunt and went on to score 11 goals in 27 appearances before accepting a lucrative offer mid-season to join Leiston.

That move was short-lived as Niko returned at the beginning of the 2017/18 campaign, one which was his most successful in terms of goals as he smashed the 40-goal barrier becoming only the second Hendon player to do so in the semi-professional era. That form saw Niko clinch a move to Hartlepool United for an undisclosed fee.

Following several loan spells back down south, Niko was at Hungerford United when he answered the call for a third time and returned to the club in February 2023 where his 11 goals in all competitions helped the Greens avoid relegation.

He was once again top scorer in 2023/24 with 25 goals, and in 2024/25 with 18, a campaign that saw him become the first Hendon player in the semi-professional era - now spanning 50 years - to hit the 100 goals mark for the club.

This season saw the goals dry up, but Niko still achieved double figures as he moved back into midfield finishing on 115 goals from 255 appearances. This goal tally sees him reach the top 10 of the club's all time goalscoring list, something that marks him out among the modern era as a genuine legend.

We'd like to thank Niko for his service over the past 13 years and thank him for the goals and memories. It also goes without saying that we wish him all the very best.
