Hendon's four youth teams will start their season on Sunday. There is one new team and one of last year's squads has disbanded. Gone are last year's under-16s, who finished runners-up in the Premier Division of the Harrow Youth League. Manager Peter Perry, who became a father for the first time in May, has moved out the area and realised he could not devote enough time to the team.

This means that the senior team this season will be the Under-16s, managed by Steve Neville. They have a proud record to defend, having gone unbeaten through their Harrow Youth League Division One campaign and also won the Middlesex Youth Cup.

The Under-15s are also defending league champions, having won Harrow Youth League Division Two last season. Managed by Dave Merrilees, they will be making a big step up because this year the team will be in the Premier Division, a rise of two levels.

Last season's new boys are making an even bigger climb. Undefeated champions of Division Three of the Harrow Youth League (they dropped just 2 points in 14 matches and had clinched promotion in January), Dragan Jenic's boys will also be playing in the Under-14s Premier Division.

The new team is the Under-13s. They will be managed by Phil Neville, a member of the youth squad managed by Martin Herring and Gary Eaton 1995-98, Middlesex Under-17s Cup winners in that final season. Phil makes his managerial debut, after acting as coach to brother Steve, in Division Two of the Harrow Youth League.
