In a repeat of the last day of the season, Hendon lost 1-0 to Chesham United courtesy of a penalty, which was scored today by Ben Smith. Chesham fielded a much changed side from the one that was relegated last season. Hendon welcomed goalkeeper Dave King to the side for his first appearance as the only player who hadn't appeared in friendlies so far this season. Hendon had a number of reasonable chances, with Rob Haworth having a good header cleared off the line by Steve Sinclair, Eugene Ofori firing just wide, Martin Randall heading narrowly wide and Dave Hunt having a drive well saved by Matt Ramsey. The penalty was given away by Mark Burgess who pushed Garry Sippetts as he entered the 18 yard box.
