Match Report

Hampstead [Town] experienced stronger opposition than they had anticipated in the Middlesex Charity Cup-tie with Tufnell Park, which, after a strenuous and exciting game, they eventually won by three golas to two.

Owing to another important Cup engagement, the visitors sent a mixed side of reserve and f irst team players, and they put up a very fine display. Tufnell Park not only led by a goal (scored by Crome) at the interval, but by reason of the splendid form of their goalkeeper, L. Montgomery, who repelled some brilliant efforts of the Hampstead forwards, they appeared likely winners. F.G. Young, however, did the hat trick for the second week in succession, and his final goal just on time made a thrilling finish. Drew obtained the second goal for Tufnell Park.

This success carries Hampstead to the semi-final which is drawn to be played on their ground.
