Match Report

Hampstead [Town] have done well in the London Challenge Cup. After beating Enfield, Sterling Athletic and Tufnell Park, they were called upon to face Clapton on Monday at the Spotted Dog. Clapton had an undeafeated record, but on several occasions in the match they looked like going under. Hampstaed, who put in the field a strong team, including two St. Albans players (the Millers), were slightly superior to their opponents in the first half, but could not get the ball into the net, and after the interval the exchanges favoured Clapton. It was not until five minutes from the end, however, that Earle hooked the ball over his head, and Webster scored the only goal of the match.
