Match Report

Hampstead [Town] gained an easier victory than they anticipated in their Amateur Cup-tie with Polytechnic. Although thoroughly deserving their success, the score of 7 goals to 2 - the largest in the day's ties - was somewhat flattering on the general run of play. K. Seabrooke, at inside-right, performed the hat trick, C. Wise and R.J. Kirby both scored a couple, and Lewis Smith missed with a penalty, which was an unusual experience for him.

Hampstead will now meet Staines in the divisional final to decide the right to play in the competition proper, and as the form of Polytechnic has been very good this season, their convincing win provides justification for the hope that further good results will be achieved.
