Golders Green were beaten by Barnet by five goals to nil at Claremont Road on September 5.
One of the strongest sides in the Herts & Middlesex League, last season, Barnet set about Golders Green before the home team realised they were on the field, and scored three goals all within the space of ten minutes. SAW, their centre forward, got the first two and HANCOCK the third.
The Green settled down after this and had several scoring chances, but Goodchild, the best of their forwards, hit the bar with Greygoose beaten, while Stockwell also made an excellent effort and failed. The Green's defence was struggling to keep Barnet at a safe distance from their goal, and at half-time the score was 0-3.
Even with the wind in their favour, in the second half, Golders Green could make little impression on Barnet's strong defence, and half way through the period SAW scored Barnet's fourth.
Greygoose was injured following the saving of a shot by Stroud, but he soon recovered. Just before the final whistle, SAW got through again to beat Stidder, netting Barnet's 5th.
