Golders Green had by far the better of the exchanges in their friendly match with Epsom last Saturday, but missed at least three open goals in the first half.. In the second half it was all Golders Green.

The Green's forward trouble re-asserted itself, lack of speed and punch, absence of first-time methods, and inaccurate shooting. Frequently there were gaps, and the inside forwards did not come up quickly enough from defence to attack.

In ten minutes the Green took the lead, and good work by Griffiths and Topp enabled KING to score. Then Topp gave Griffiths a good opening, and he shot over. Later King shot over the bar. A nice movement between Stroud, Fisher and Cochrane again failed when Griffiths shot over the bar, and King repeated the dose a minute later. Topp took a good free kick, Elbrow doing well to save King's header.

After the interval Epsom made a determined effort to equalise, and Roberts was twice lured from his goal, but the danger was averted. Then Cochrane passed in to King, who beat his man and put the ball in for GRIFFITHS to head home. Later, Stroud hit the post and the ball rebounded to Griffiths, who put wide. Elbrow saved from Fisher, but after a quarter of an hour Lynch put FISHER through to score with a nice ground shot.

From this point it was all Golders Green, and Epsom seemed to fade out. FLOYD scored the fourth goal from a pass by Griffiths. GRIFFITHS got the fifth from Cochrane's opening, and KING notched the sixth following a corner taken by Stroud. With the last kick of the match, TOPP scored the seventh with a grand shot.
