A penalty from former Hendon striker Ricky German was enough to seal a tight encounter between table-toppers Chesham United and Hendon at a showery Silver Jubilee Park yesterday.

In a tightly-matched contest in which defences were largely on top, a naive challenge on the hour mark gave German the chance to grab the only goal of the game from the spot. The league's leading marksman made no mistake to clinch the 1-0 win that extended the Generals' advantage at the top of the table to 15 points.
