A superb defensive performance saw Hendon make it six points from six on the road this week as they overcame Winchester City 2-0 at the Charters Community Stadium this afternoon.

Billy Leonard opened the scoring after the Greens had weathered an early storm from the home side with a neat finish from the edge of the box before Sam Adenola poked home the second on the stroke of half time, capitalising on a goalkeeping error.

There was still time for skipper Joe White to see red for a second caution before the break meaning it was backs to the wall for the Greens in the second half.

Although Winchester applied plenty of pressure, they rarely threatened debutant goalkeeper Loris Marciman until the final 15 minutes when he made three fine saves.

Winchester had a goal controversially chalked off for an offside flag in the final ten minutes, but Hendon held on to move up to 7th in the table.
