Lee Allinson has moved to strengthen his defensive options by beating off stiff competition from a number of clubs to sign centre-half Quba Gordon.

Quba, who spent time on-loan with us in 2016/7 from Boreham Wood making half a dozen appearances under Gary McCann, was being actively sought by more than half a dozen clubs that included a number at step 2 but has chosen to make the move to Silver Jubilee Park.

Allinson said of his new signing 'Quba was our number 1 target when Cameron Mawer joined the club. He's a player I've wanted to work with for a long time and I'm delighted to have finally signed him.'

After leaving Boreham Wood, Quba was part of the extremely successful Maldon & Tiptree side that knocked Leyton Orient out of the FA Cup in 2019/20 and reached the 1st round again last season. Following the curtailment of the last campaign at step 4 he made the transition to step 2 seamlessly joining Welling United from whom he joins us.

We're delighted to welcome Quba back to Silver Jubilee Park and wish him a successful second spell at the club.
