The first team made it five league wins on the bounce as they saw off the challenge of Wimborne Town with a 3-2 victory on another warm afternoon. The Greens lie four points behind leaders Weymouth but have two games in hand.

Romario Jonas was first on the scoresheet in the fourth minute, although he didn't know much about it as a cross hit him while he was on the ground and the ball flew into the net. Within seven minutes the visitors were back on equal terms as Toby Holmes found the back of the net.

In the 35th minute Ricardo German got the decisive touch to restore the lead, and just before half-time Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick scored the goal of the game with a 20 yard drive that simply flew into the net.

The only goal of the second half came on the hour mark when Franklyn Clarke fired home a rebound after his penalty had been saved by Danny Boness, although both keepers were called into action.

The Greens were able to hold on for the three points, but Wimborne can travel home knowing that they had played well, and were perhaps a bit unfortunate not to get a draw.

Next up for the Greens is the home FA Trophy tie against Staines Town next Saturday - kick off 3:00pm at SJP.
