The first team are facing an FA Cup replay in Sussex after they drew 1-1 with Lancing this evening in the second qualifying round. Ultimately it was a case of the Greens not taking their chances, although full credit must go to Lancing who defended very well in numbers, and their keeper, Tyler D'Cruz, made three excellent saves during the game.

Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick put the Greens ahead with 24 minutes on the clock with a fine close range finish from a tight angle. The equaliser came with twelve minutes to go when Lancing broke away and Jack Langford was able to slide the ball past Danny Boness. As the game moved into stoppage time Boness kept the Greens in the competition with a fine save.

We hope to be able to confirm details of the replay tomorrow, but it is currently expected to take place on Sunday. As a consequence our home league game against Staines Town is postponed.
