Gary McCann has this afternoon confirmed that popular experienced goalkeeper Richard Wilmot and left the club to join Cambridge City, who will be playing in the BGB Southern League Premier Division next season. Richard made 104 appearances for the Greens over three spells, and was a popular figure among the supporters, winning the supporters player of the season in 2006-07. The club would like to thank Richard for all his efforts during his time at Claremont Road and wish him all the best for the future.

One other player who won't be around at pre-season training will be James Parker. Last season's captain has gone to the USA for a few months, but James is expected back in September when it is hoped that he will rejoin the squad. James has been an important part of the squad over the past 3 and a half years and has so far made 145 appearances for the club. We hope that he enjoys his time in America, but hope to see him make many more appearances upon his return.

Speaking this afternoon Gary said that whilst there may be one or two more departures, the rest of last season's squad intend to return next season and build on their good work of the last campaign. Gary has also been busy talking to prospective players and is very hopeful that there will be some new faces at pre-season training. News of new signings will be announced once everything has been signed and sealed.
