Hendon Football Club is delighted to announce that Rob Morris is to be appointed a Director of Hendon Football Club (2008) Limited with effect from 1st February 2014.

Rob brings with him a wealth of football experience, as a player, coach and administrator. A successful businessman, Rob built up Excel Sport, long-recognised as being one of the leading providers of children's football coaching in Hertfordshire.

Simon Lawrence (Chairman of Hendon Football Club) said:

"I have only known Rob for a few months but I have known of him for many years as two of my nephews coached under him at Excel Sport. I am delighted that he is on board and have no doubt that he will make a significant contribution to ensuring the club's survival in the short-term and will play a huge part in the club's future developments over the longer-term.

He has some great ideas as to how the club should move forward and, with the addition of his expertise and energy, I feel confident that we have a realistic plan for a successful future."

Rob Morris said:

"I am delighted to be involved with such a great club that is steeped in tradition. I was born only a couple of miles from the ground and played at Claremont Road and understand the sentiment and passion that exists between supporters and the club. Together with the hard working Supporters Trust Board and Supporters Association Committee, I am sure we can build a community club that will be sustainable. Our primary aim will be to bring financial stability and then we will look at the possibility of bringing Hendon back closer to home. It's an exciting time for all those connected with the club and I relish the challenge."
