Hendon were beaten by a solitary goal against AFC Hornchurch this afternoon in a closely fought, entertaining encounter.

The goal came on the hour mark when the experienced Stefan Payne fired off a superb shot from 25 yards which gave the unsighted Berkley Laurencin no chance.

Laurencin made a number of saves during the game, whilst at the other end the Greens did create a number of chances but were unable to find the back of the net.
