Gary McCann has announced this morning that popular goalkeeper Sean Thomas is hanging up his gloves for the immediate future.

Unfortunately Sean has got huge commitments with his University course, including exams and work placements, and together with his football commitments, he was finding that he wasn't getting any time to himself.

The club have worked with Sean over the past few weeks to see if something could be sorted out to allow him to continue playing, but he spoke to Gary early this week and felt that he really was going to have to give up football for the time being.

Gary said that Sean has been very honest and professional about how Sean has gone about things, and given that football isn't going to be Sean's main financial income, Gary fully understands that Sean needs to concentrate on his studies and subsequent working career.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Sean for his efforts whilst he has been with us, and wish him every success with his studies. Of course, the door will always be open for him at Hendon, and who knows, maybe sometime in the future we'll see him back between the posts again.
