It's back to league action this weekend as the first team make the trip down to the south coast to play Hastings United.
Hastings have had a mixed start to the season, picking up 10 points from their 10 games played so far, but they were knocked out of the FA Cup at the first attempt by Cray Wanderers, and have failed to win any of their three games since - drawing with Harrow Borough and Leatherhead before losing 2-0 at Billericay Town on Tuesday evening.
Jason Hopkinson, who took over as manager at the Pilot Field last December, has put together a squad made up largely of players aged 22 and under, with a few experienced heads around them, including defender Sean Ray.
Last season, both games ended in draws, with a goalless draw at Vale Farm in August being followed by a 1-1 draw at the Pilot Field in April, Dave Diedhiou scoring for the Greens.
Gary McCann will be very keen to ensure that the squad pick up all three points, particularly as cup games become the focus over the next fortnight, and also as Lowestoft dropped points during the week, it means that a win ensures the Greens remain well involved in the leading pack.
Kick off at the Pilot Field is at 3.00pm, and admission is £9 for adults, £6 for concessions, £3 for young adults aged 18-21, and free for under 18s.
