Hendon's final-day defeat of Heybridge Swifts at Scraley Road was the Greens' first Isthmian (ICIS or Ryman) League victory in Essex since October 1995, after failing to win any of the previous 16 matches. On 28 October 1995, Hendon quickly went 2 goals down at Purfleet, but struck back with 3, all before half-time. The Hendon match-winner on that day was Dave Stephenson, the manager Mick Browne. Since then, Hendon have drawn twice at Grays (without scoring), drawn and lost twice each at Purfleet (scoring once) and Dagenham & Redbridge (goal difference of 2-12), drawn twice and lost once at Heybridge (never leading), drawn and lost once at Billericay and played out a goalless draw at Canvey Island.
