Two early goals for Hendon were enough to secure victory for the Dons at Braintree's Cressing Road ground this afternoon. In just the 4th minute, Ricci Crace received the ball just inside the box, turned and shot across the keeper to send the Greens 1-0 up. Things were to get better still for the away side, as just a minute later Hendon were awared a free kick on the left from around 20 yards. Kieran Gallagher stepped up and put the ball inside the near post, stranding the 'keeper. However, two injuries later in the first half did cause problems. Binns hobbled off which what appeared to be an ankle injury after around a quarter of an hour, while Rob Haworth was carried off with a serious problem with his ankle just before half time. The striker has since been taken to hospital to have it looked at. Braintree did get a goal back in the 50th minute after a scramble through an as yet Paul Cobb. Hendon were left to soak up pressure for much of the remaining 40 minutes but succesfully did so for a deserved three points.
