Hendon came away from Hemel Hempstead Town having had a good workout and with a 1-0 win thanks to a Martin Randall goal in the 80th minute when he got a decisive touch to a cross that completely decieved Hemel keeper Darren Bonfield. Hendon fielded one new face in substitute Richard Evans, a defender who was released by St Albans City at the weekend. However, man of the match on the night was undoubtedly Bonfield, who pulled off a string of top quality saves during the second half, including one at complete point blank range from an Andy Cook header. Dave King in the Hendon goal also made a couple of good saves. Two familiar faces in the Hemel line up were former skipper Gary Fitzgerald, and much to the surprise of the travelling support Rob Hollingdale played for our opponents which suggests that he hasn't signed for Kingstonian.
