Was it the last game at Claremont Road?

That was the question many people were asking yesterday. The straight answer is that we don't know. As yesterday's programme went to press there was still some uncertainty surrounding the date of our intended move to the Copthall Stadium in Hendon. And with no moving date available it was therefore impossible to produce a souvenir programme or organise any special events yesterday. However, if and when we eventually move, the last game here will be commemorated in one way or another. As soon as there are any developments, both the Greensline (09066 555836) and the website will be updated with full details.

What does appear likely is that yesterday was our last home game in the Isthmian Football League, and our final game at Kettering on Saturday should see an end to our 41 years unbroken stay in the top division of the Isthmian League.

Like the possible ground move, the league situation for next season is unclear, except that we expect to be founder memebers of the Conference South (they wouldn't put us in the North would they?!) and could visit Weymouth, Tiverton, Newport County and Merthyr Tydfil. Just think we used to moan about the trip to Heybridge on a Tuesday night! At present we don't know what the new set up will have in store for us, although it should become clearer in the next few weeks.
