On a hot sunny afternoon at Claremont Road, Hendon ran out 2-1 winners against Eastleigh in a hard fought game. It was a hard working performance a Hendon side suffering with an injury hit defence, particularly in the second half. It was Eastleigh that drew first blood in the 27th minute when Andy Forbes fired home, but within sixty seconds the Greens had equalised when Eugene Ofori celebrated his 150th appearance by scoring having been sent clear of the defence. Hendon had the better of the second half, and were duly rewarded in the 80th minute when Danny Rofe was dispossed on the edge of the penalty area by Mark Nicholls, who in turn cooly slotted the ball into the net. The Greens had chances to extend the lead further, but found Colin Matthews in fine form as he made two excellent saves in the dying minutes. The result moves Hendon into second place in the table, just a point behind Yeading who have a game in hand.
