It's one of the footballing cliches most often used, but today was a real game of two halves. Hendon were very poor in the first half, and Folkestone deservedly took the lead in the 35th minute when Simon Glover finished off a good move. The fact the scoreline was only 1-0 at half time was largely down to Dave King who made a number of good saves and interceptions. As poor as the Greens were in the first half they were good in the second and within five minutes of the restart they had equalised through John Frendo. In the 53rd minute the Greens took the lead when Steve McGrath celebrated his debut by heading home after great work from René Street to set him up. Hendon battled hard to keep their lead in the second half, and their job was made easier two minutes from time when James Everitt was sent off for a second caution. The Greens did manage to hold on reasonably comfortably, and went home happy with all three points.
