Made his debut in September 1945 scoring in a 3-2 defeat at Bromley before going on to make more than 250 appearances and scoring more than 150 goals over the next 12 seasons, breaking the 20-goal barrier on four occasions. Won the Athenian League in 1952/3 and contributed a small part to the club's second title in 1955/6 before moving onto Epsom.
