Sunday 29th April - Hendon 12-0 St Josephs

In Hendon's first season running a team in the Harrow Youth League, an Under-13s match against St Josephs was played in the Claremont Road Stadium. It ended 20-0 to the Greens, so - a dozen years later - this 12-0 defeat might be considered an improvement for St Josephs! Inside seven minutes, Hendon were three goals to the good, thanks to Luke Azumah, Raj Singh and Kazim Moshin. Theo Mandel scored the next goal, five minutes later before a ten-minute drought was ended with Moshin's second of the game. Azumah snatched his second after 24 minutes and the half concluded with Azumah completing his hat-trick after 29 minutes. It took 11 minutes of the second half for Hendon to score again, Azumah the man on target and goals flowed at roughly five-minute intervals thereafter, with Mike Acheampong, Adbul Nazim, Samir Dost and Azumah - his fifth - completing the rout. "We passed well and worked well as a unit," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "It is good to end the season on a high. My man of the match was Theo Mandel, who provided both width and determination."

Sunday 22nd April - Ruislip Town 7-3 Hendon

Hendon Under-13s lost a rather bizarre Harrow Youth League match on Sunday morning, an encounter which saw one goal in the opening 36 minutes and nine more in the 34 that remained. The first-half strike came after 17 minutes and it meant that Ruislip turned around with that narrow advantage. They wasted little time, however, in extending it, adding goals after 37 and 38 minutes. Hendon did pull a couple of goals back to make things interesting, Jordan Hornblow scoring after 43 minutes and Kazim Mohsin adding another one just nine minutes later. However, three more goals in ten minutes saw Ruislip their advantage to 6-2, before Mohsin got his second goal of the day. Even then, there was enough stoppage time for Ruislip to score a seventh goal. "We didn't get much luck today," said assistant manager Nick McMullen, taking the team while manager Ben Schiffer-Harte was completing the Flora London Marathon. "My man of the match was Kazim Mohsin who didn't give up all game long and really didn’t deserve to be on the losing side."

Sunday 15th April - Bessingby Park Rangers B 2-7 Hendon

Hendon Under-13s took all the intrigue out of this game in the opening 13 minutes as they scored four times on their way to a 7-2 demolition of Bessingby Park Rangers in the Harrow Youth League on Sunday morning. Nazim Choudhury got the ball rolling after five minutes and Jordan Hornblo doubled the advantage ten minutes in. Abdul Nazim stretched the lead two minutes later and Hornblow got his second very soon after. Four minutes before half-time Nazim netted his second goal of the afternoon and there was still time for Luke Azumah to make it 6-0 when they players switched ends. In the second half, Bessingby Park Rangers came back into the game and they scored after 47 minutes. The six-goal advantage was restored four minutes later as Azumah completed his double - the third Hendon player with a brace. Although Bessingby added another consolation near the end, the result was not in doubt. "We showed the skill and desire of a team that can do very well," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "We had a full team out today and it made a huge difference. My man of the match was Kasim Mohsin."

Sunday 1st April - Headstone Manor 3 Hendon 0

A rash of injuries and others who were unavailable mean that travelled to Headstone Manor with only ten players, and with the third-choice goalkeeper in the squad forced into custodian duties. Adding to Hendon's problems was an injury to Rheon McLeod in the opening minutes. He was able to carry on, though was not able to make his usual contributions to the team. The game was goalless until almost midway through the second half, but once Headstone Manor had scored their first goal, after 46 minutes, the result was not in doubt. Hendon tired noticeably and conceded after 51 and 65 minutes. "We really struggled today," admitted manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "We had seven players missing for one reason or another and couldn’t put out a full 11. In the end we just ran out of steam. The boys gave everything they had, especially man of the match Rheon McLeod, who picked up an early injury and refused to come off."

Sunday 25th March - Actual Soccer 3 Hendon 0

Hendon Under-13s lost what may well have proved to be the title decider on Sunday morning when they slipped to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Actual Soccer. The game was decided in three mad minutes in the opening quarter of an hour. After a dozen minutes of a close contest, Actual Soccer took the lead, A minute later, another goal flew in and, two minutes after that, it was 3-0. Amazingly that was the end of the scoring, although the home side did come close to adding to their advantage before the interval. Hendon came much more into the game in the second half, but the damage was done. "Three mad minutes have cost us," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "We were caught cold by the first goal and by the time we had worked out what was going on it was 3–0. We did much better in the second half and had a few chances to pull a goal back. Unfortunately, we couldn’t make the breakthrough. My man of the match was striker Jordan Hornblow."

Sunday 11th March - Acton Ealing Wanderers B 2 Hendon 4

Hendon Under-13s were quick to shake off the rust of a long break from matches in the Harrow Youth League, but had to hold off a late charge from Acton EW’s "B" squad before claiming the points on Sunday morning. Nazir Sherzay gave Hendon the lead after just two minutes and Mike Acheampong doubled the advantage before a quarter of an hour had elapsed. That’s the way the score stayed until ten minutes in the second half, when Luke Azumah made it 3-0. However, Acton scored within a minute to give themselves some hope and they upped the tempo. With ten minutes to go, things got even more interesting as Acton made it 3-2. But Hendon's defensive resolve stiffened and they were able to keep out their hosts and, in the final minute of the match, Acheampong ensured the points would be Hendon's by completing his double. "It got a bit hairy in the final ten minutes," admitted manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "but we hung on well and added a crucial fourth goal late on. We hadn't played for a number of weeks and we struggled in places. My man of the match was Hamza Al-Fadel, who was superb."

Sunday 18th February - Hendon 6 Acton Ealing Wanderers B 3

Hendon Under-13s made heavy weather of overcoming a tough Acton EW B squad at Copthall Playing Fields on Sunday morning, but a hat-trick from man of the match Luke Azumah saw them through. Kazem Mohsin opened the scoring with a penalty in the second minutes and the advantage was doubled, ten minutes later, by Azumah. However, Acton EW fought back and they drew level after scoring twice in six minutes midway through the half. However, within a minute of conceding the equaliser, Hendon went up to the other end and Theo Mandel restored the lead. Four minutes later, Raj Singh, on his debut made it 4-2, and that's the way it stayed until half-time. Five minutes into the second half, Azumah grabbed his second of the game and although Acton again hit back with a pair of goals, there were only six minutes on the clock when they got their fourth. Any nerves were steadied within two minutes by Azumah, who completed his hat-trick and the scoring for the morning.

Sunday 4th February - Hendon 10 Princes Park 0

Hendon Under-13s came out on the wrong end of a 14-goal thriller last week, but they made no mistake this week, scoring all ten against Princes Park at Copthall Playing Fields on Sunday morning. The goals came early and often in the opening half, right from the first minute when Abdul Nazim scored. Kobina Simpson made it 2-0 with a beautiful strike four minutes later, before Nazim grabbed his second in the 11th minute. Luke Azumah was the next to get in on the act, making it 4-0 after 20 minutes. Azumah's second was only two minutes away and Nazir Sherzay completed the first-half scoring after 27 minutes. It took nine minutes of the second half for the next goal to arrive, Azumah completing his hat-trick. A similar gap followed before Jordan Hornblow got his name on the scoresheet. With six minutes to go, Nazim became the second hat-trick hero of the team and there was still time for Nahid Choudhury to break double figures, his goal coming after 68 minutes. "It was great that we kept a clean sheet," enthused manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "our first one of the season. My man of the match was Nahid Choudhury, whose solid defending was a big part of the clean sheet and he also managed to score a goal."

Sunday 28th January - Hendon 6 Actual Soccer 8

Hendon Under-13s and Actual Soccer averaged a goal every five minutes in a pulsating Harrow Youth League fixture at Copthall Playing Fields on Sunday morning, but it was the division-leading Actual Soccer who came away with the spoils after a real battle. Hendon made a fantastic start, scoring after five minutes through Abdul Nazin and Luke Azumah, seven minutes later. But Actual Soccer showed what they were made of by hitting back with goals after 15, 20, 30 and 32 minutes to take a 4-2 interval lead. They didn’t stop there, adding further strikes after 40, 45 and 53 minutes. Now it was Hendon's turn to fight back and they made a fantastic effort. Michael Acheampong made it 7-3 after 55 minutes, Luke Azumah added another two minutes and Rheon McLeod made it three goals in five minutes. When Jordan Hornblow struck with two minutes remaining the score was 7-6 and a remarkable result was brewing. Sadly, it was not to be. Although another goal did come, it was Actual Soccer who got it with the last kick of the game to ensure victory. "It would be an understatement to say this was a roller-coaster of a game," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "We got off to a great start, only for them to come back take a two-goal lead at half time. Then they got three more, but we hit back and made it 7-6 with a couple of minutes to. I thought we’d go on to nick an equaliser, but they scored instead. My man of the mach was Theo Mandel."

Sunday 21st January - Hendon 5 Bessingby Park Rangers B 2

Hendon Under-13s bounced back from last week's disappointing defeat to overcome a strong Bessingby Park Rangers team at Copthall Playing Fields on Sunday morning. The visitors got off to a great start, scoring after just three minutes, but they failed to build on their position and were pegged back after 20 minutes, Kazem Mohsin scoring from the penalty spot. Barely a minute later, Hendon had the lead, Mohsin again the marksman and, from there, the Greens rarely looked back. After half an hour Jordan Hornblow made it 3-1 and, two minutes later Rheon McLeod added a fourth Hendon goal. Bessingby pulled a goal back on the stroke of half-time, but any nerves Hendon might have had, were well and truly brushed aside when Kobina Simpson restored the three-goal advantage. "I am pleased with the win today,” said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "It was a real battle in very difficult condition but we came through it well. My man of the match was Rheon McLeod."

Sunday 14th January - Harlington 5 Hendon 0

Hendon Under-13s' recent good run of form came to an end at the hands of Harlington on Sunday morning. The first half was a very tight affair, but Harlington made the breakthrough just before the half-time whistle. The Greens went looking for an equaliser early in the second half, but they didn’t take the two or three chances that fell their way. Instead, it was Harlington who were next on the scoreboard and, from then on, there was only going to be one winner, the home team adding three more goals. Manager Ben Schiffer-Harte was not happy with what he watched, saying, "We never got out of the traps quickly enough. Mind you there is a good side to this: because we have not lost in the Harrow Youth League since our second game of the season, this will keep the team on their toes. My man of the match was Charlie Osborn."

Sunday 17th December - Hendon 7 Greenford Celtic B 3

Hendon Under-13s go into the Christmas break on the back of the team's first three-game winning streak, this after seeing off the stern challenge offered by Greenford Celtic at Copthall on Sunday morning. Mike Acheampong opened the scoring after two minutes and the advantage was doubled by Abdul Nazim after 19 minutes. Greenford pulled a goal back after 25 minutes, but Nazim responded with his second almost straight from the restart. The goals flew in at the end of the half, with Nazim completing his hat-trick after 29 minutes and Luke Azumah also finding the target. Each Hendon goal, however, was answered by one from Greenford Celtic, so the teams turned around with Hendon holding a 5-3 advantage. After the break, the Hendon defence stepped up and kept a clean sheet, while the attack added two more goals, from Acheampong three minutes into the period and Kazem Mohsin ten minutes from the final whistle. "We hit them with everything we had," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "and it worked when Mike Acheampong scored early in each half. We have finished the year with our best winning run to date and it is something to take into the new year. My man of the match was Abdul Nazim, who even filled in at left back late on."

Sunday 10th December - Hendon 5 Headstone Manor B 2

Hendon Under-13s never trailed as they overcame Headstone Manor's B squad in this Harrow Youth League match at Copthall Playing Fields on Sunday morning. Kobina Simpson gave Hendon the lead after eight minutes, only for Manor to draw level seven minutes later. Three minutes before half time, Luke Azumah restored the Hendon advantage, but his was cancelled out four minutes after the restart. Azumah's second goal, after 46 minutes, proved to be the match-winner and two goals in the final five minutes, from Taz Omotoso and Theo Mandel, made sure the points were Hendon's. "This was a really tough match," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "especially in the first half. But we scored some super goals in the second half and eventually were very well deserved winners. My man of the match was Kobina Simpson."

Sunday 3rd December - St Josephs B 1 Hendon 6

Hendon Under-13s had only ten players available for their trip to St Joseph's B squad on Sunday morning but they were still too strong for their opponents and ran out 6-1 winners in this Harrow Youth League match. Two goals in two minutes, in the opening third of the game, gave Hendon a lead they never relinquished, Luke Azumah and Kobina Simpson finding the target. Although St Joseph's pulled a goal back after 15 minutes, Kasim Mohsin made it 3-1 before half-time. In the second half, Hendon continued to apply the pressure and both Azumah and Simpson scored their second goals of the afternoon, after 41 and 56 minutes, respectively. With seven minutes to go, Hendon completed the scoring when Jordan Hornblow found the target. "I was concerned that we were a man short," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "but the boys were superb today. My man of the match was Nahid Choudhury, who was absolutely fantastic at right-back."

Sunday 19th November - Greenford Celtic B 3 Hendon 3

Hendon Under-13s came close to extending their recent excellent form, but two late goals meant they had to share their Harrow Youth League spoils. Greenford made the perfect start, scoring in the first minute, but Hendon were level, ten minutes later, when Luke Azumah scored. In the 17th minute, Kasem Mohsin gave Hendon the lead and a fine goal from Jordan Hornblow, four minutes before the break, gave the Greens some breathing space. The second half was a close affair, and it looked like Hendon would hang on for victory, until two goals in the last ten minutes gave Greenford a point. "We had only 12 available players today," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "but I am still disappointed that we could not hold onto our 3-1 lead. We just ran out of steam in the final ten minutes. My man of the match was Luke Azumah."

Sunday 5th November - Hendon 18 Kodak B 3

Hendon Under-13s took exception to conceding goals early in both halves at home to Kodak in the Harrow Youth League on Sunday morning. Kodak's fifth minute opener was cancelled out by a seven-minute hat-trick from converted centre-half Jordan Hornblow. Hornblow, scored after 11, 14 and 18 minutes. A minute later, Kobina Simpson scored, followed, three, five and eight minutes later, by efforts from Luke Azumah, Mike Acheampong and Theo Mandel. And, on the stroke of half-time, Hornblow had his fourth of the game. The second half started explosively with Kodak scoring almost from the kick-off and Azumah replying from the restart following that goal. Azumah completed his hat-trick in 41 minutes - his goals coming 19 minutes apart. Hendon's third hat-trick took nine minutes to complete and it came from Rheon McLeod, starting from the 44th minute. A minute after McLeod's second goal, however, came Kodak's third, which made it 12-3. The reaction to this goal was a six-goal salvo in ten minutes, with McLeod, Hornblow, Acheampong, Abdul Nazir, McLeod - his fourth - and Kazem Mohsin completing the scoring with seven minutes remaining. Manager Ben Schiffer-Harte said, "Jordan Hornblow – Matthew's brother – has been playing at the back, but we put him up front in training and he looked very good. He deserves the man of the match award today. But, overall, I am very pleased with the way we bounced back from last week and showed what we can do."

Sunday 29th October - Hendon 5 Hampstead 6 (aet)

Hendon Under-13s came desperately close to knocking out a club playing two divisions higher than them in a pulsating Harrow Youth League Cup tie on Sunday morning. They twice led by three goals, but eventually conceded an equaliser with just three minutes remaining and lost the game in the fourth minute of extra time. Abdul Nazim gave Hendon the lead after 11 minutes and, within 60 seconds, Luke Azumah had added a second goal. Hampstead reduced the arrears after 16 minutes, but Nazir Sherzay gave Hendon a two-goal half-time cushion when he scored after 22 minutes. Four minutes into the second half Michael Acheampong made it 4-1 and that’s the way it stayed for 11 minutes, when Hampstead scored their second goal. However, after Daniel Donald converted a penalty to make it 5-2 with just 17 minutes to go, Hampstead threw caution to the wind and it paid off with goals after 60, 64 and 67 minutes to force extra time. There was just the one goal in the extra 20 minutes, scored by Hampstead after four minutes and they hung on for victory. "We just let it go," said a disappointed manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. But we were playing a team two divisions above us and they only forced extra time in the last few minutes. We battled so hard to get into a position to win but maybe thought we had it won too early. My man of the match was Theo Mandel."

Sunday 22nd October - Kodak B 1 Hendon 5

Hendon Under-13s overcame transport difficulties to see off Kodak in a Harrow Youth League match on Sunday morning. They had to start short-handed but nonetheless took the lead after 20 minutes through Michael Acheampong. Two minutes later, the scores were level and that's the way it stayed until the break. Four minutes into the second half Kazem Mohsin gave Hendon their second lead and this time they never looked like losing it, especially after Luke Azumah had added number three after 45 minutes. An own goal from Kodak after 55 minutes added to their problems and the scoring was completed by Kobina Simpson ten minutes from time. "We had to start without our full complement today," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte, "but we were able to keep them at bay until everyone was here. After that we played really well and deserved the victory. My man of the match was Samilluh Dost, who was excellent."

Sunday 15th October - Hendon 1 Charville Athletic 4

Hendon Under-13s came up short in their first Middlesex Youth Cup campaign, going out to Charville Athletic at Copthall Playing Fields on Sunday morning They fell behind after 20 minutes, but were able to scramble their way back into the game with a goal from Kazeem Mohsin five minutes before half-time. In the second half, Charville showed the greater urgency and clever attacking on the break brought them three more goals. This time Hendon couldn’t find a way back and the match ended with a disappointing 4-1 scoreline. "I am very disappointed," said manager Ben Schiffer-Harte. "We lacked imagination in our play today and we allowed them to catch us on the break. My man of the match was Naheed Chounduri."

Sunday 1st October - Hendon 4 Ruislip Town 5

Hendon Under-13s suffered the heartbreak of wasting four leads before ending up on the wrong end of a 5-4 scoreline against Ruislip Town at Copthall on Sunday morning. Michael Acheampong opened the scoring, but Ruislip cancelled out that goal just before half-time. Luke Azumah restored Hendon's advantage two minutes into the second half, only for Ruislip to return to parity a couple of minutes later. After a similar gap, Abdul Nazim made it 3-2 to Hendon, and this time the lead lasted for just over ten minutes before it was all-square at 3-3. Azumah was fouled in the penalty area after 63 minutes and he converted the spot-kick. But this advantage lasted for only four minutes. Then, with just over a minute remaining, Ruislip took the lead and were able to hang on till the final whistle. Manager Ben Schiffer-Harte said, "This was a real topsy-turvy game. I am proud of the way that the team showed spirit and never gave up. My man of the match was Luke Azumah."

Sunday 24th September - Princes Park B 1 Hendon 4

Hendon Under-13s took their time to get going, but once they did, there was no stopping them. Luke Azumah broke the deadlock four minutes before half-time, and that's the way it stayed at the break. Azumah grabbed his second five minutes into the second half, but Hendon were then rocked by a goal from Princes Park after 43, which brought them right back into the game. However, Azumah completed his hat-trick just two minutes later to restore the advantage. With nine minutes remaining, Hendon added a fourth through Nazir Sherzay and that’s they way the game ended. Manager Ben Schiffer-Harte said, "It was a very good performance today. Our defence was much better than it was last week and we also created a lot of chances. My man of the match was the hat-trick hero, Luke Azumah."

Sunday 17th September - Hendon 6 Harlington 3

Hendon Under-13s played their first competitive match together on Sunday morning at Barnet Copthall Playing Fields and came away from their Harrow Youth League fixture against Harlington winners by three clear goals. However, the result was nothing like as comfortable as the scoreline suggests. Harlington took the lead only for Hendon equalise through Kobina Simpson. Hendon then took the lead through Luke Azuma, an advantage they clung onto entering half-time. After the break, Harlington equalised twice, the second time after Azuma's second goal. But Hendon grew stronger as the game progressed and, with the defence tightening up noticeably, they pulled away to win with goals from Michael Acheampong, Abdul Sattar-Nazin and Nazir Sherzay. "We were too strong for them in the end," said assistant manager Nick McMullen. "We pushed and pushed and finally made the decisive breakthrough. I am very pleased with the victory. My man of the match was Michael Acheampong."
