Sunday 7th May - Yeading HEW 2 Hendon 1

Hendon Under-13s saw their season come to a disappointing end as they lost 2-1 to Yeading HEW in the Supplementary Cup Semi Final at The Warren. Yeading took the lead in the 17th minute, only for Nassir Elmi to equalise with his 48th goal of the season four minutes later. The game remained level with both keepers making good saves until the final minute when Yeading managed to score the winner. John Creith had no complaints after the game saying "it was a really good cup tie this afternoon, both sides had chances to win it. My man of the match today was goalkeeper Joel Thomas."

Sunday 30th April - North Greenford United 3 Hendon 4

Hendon Under-13s progressed to the semi finals of the supplementary cup with a 4-3 win at North Greenford United this afternoon. Nassir Elmi opened the scoring the 18th minute but the home side equalised just four minutes later. In the 25th minute Dean Rosenthal restored the lead, only for North Greenford to equalise again. Just before half time Elmi scored his second of the afternoon but North Greenford equalised for a third time after the restart. However, the last word fell to Elmi as he completed his hat-trick with three minutes to go. Manager John Creith was delighted to progress and said "this was a very good game. My man of the match today was Zack Amankwaah."

Sunday 23rd April - Harrow St Marys 2 Hendon 4

Hendon Under-13s moved to within two games of the Harrow Youth League Supplementary Cup Final with a relatively comfortable victory at Harrow St Mary's on Sunday morning. Harrow St Mary's took the lead after 16 minutes, and it took Hendon ten more minutes to get an equalizer, Nassir Elmi scoring. Four minutes later, Elmi scored his second to give Hendon a lead they would never relinquish. With 15 minutes to go Tony Teegan stretched the Hendon advantage to two goals. Elmi completed his hat-trick with two minutes or normal time remaining and although Harrow pulled a goal back, deep in stoppage time, it was no more than a consolation. "It was a good team performance," said manager John Creith. "I am delighted to be in the semi-finals. My man of the match was Tony Teegan, who was excellent throughout."

Sunday 9th April - Ruislip Town A v Hendon

This game was postponed as Ruislip were unable to raise a side. It is expected that the points will be awarded to the Greens.

Sunday 2nd April - Hendon 3 Yeading HEW 1

Hendon Under-13s atoned for last weeks defeat in the Harrow Youth League Supplementary Cup with a victory in their second game in the competition, overcoming Yeading HEW 3-1 at Copthall Playing Fields. Tony Teegan opened the scoring after 24 mintues, a lovely headed goal from a corner. This was followed by Nassir Elmi, who scored after half an hour and, just before half-time, Elmi grabbed his second of the afternoon. In the second half, Hendon were pegged back by Yeading, who stepped up their performance and scored after 54 minutes. "We were awesome in the first half," said manager John Creith, "and although Yeading came back into the game, we still created chances. My man of the match was Ryan Brennan. He has been out for a few weeks and his return was much needed because he made a big difference coming back into the centre of midfield."

Sunday 26th March - LNER St Georges B 3 Hendon 2

Hendon Under-13s made it very difficult for themselves to advance in the Harrow Youth League Supplementary Cup when they lost their opening game of the competition at LNER St George's on Sunday afternoon. They took the lead after half an hour when an LNER defender found the net for an own goal. But the hosts scored at the right end after 49 minutes to equalise. Hendon regained the lead after 53 minutes through Damilola Thomas, but LNER hit back again and were level after 65 minutes. They took control from this point and it was no surprise that they scored a winning goal in the first minute of stoppage time. "This was a game of two halves," said manager John Creith, "and we got what we deserved for the performance after the break. Only two players can take any credit from the game, Tony Teegan and Damilola Thomas, and they share the man of the match award. They never stopped running and working hard."

Sunday 12th March - Parkfield 2 Hendon 3

Hendon Under-13s suffered a hugely disappointing defeat at Parkfield on Sunday morning, throwing away a two-goal first half lead. Against the same opponents they had defeated to win the Harrow Youth League Division Two crown a fortnight earlier, Hendon raced into a 2-0 lead through Nassir Elmi (13 minutes) and Damilola Thomas (28). On the stroke of half-time Parkfield pulled a goal back and they should have been on level terms after 51 minutes when they were awarded a penalty. They failed to convert that spot-kick, but were given another one four minutes later, and this time made no mistake. The winner came after 62 minutes. Manager John Creith could not contain his anger as he said, "We were appalling today. We didn't look like champions, throwing away a 2-0 lead. I hope the boys learned a lesson. My man of the match was goalkeeper Joel Thomas."

Sunday 26th February - Hendon 1 Parkfield 0

The under 13s won the Harrow Youth League Division Two title this morning at a still windy Claremont Road. Playing against Parkfield, they ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a 28th minute strike from Nassir Elmi. The young Greens had plenty of chances to put the game out of reach, but like the first team, they were unable to find the back of the net. However, manager John Creith was delighted with the effort and application of the team, with Jake Paul, Tony Teegan and Hunter Evans all outstanding, the latter being named as man of the match.

Title winning squad : Alan Aberdeen, Luke Allen, Zack Amankwah, Jahrell Best, Ryan Brennan, Joseph Briefel, Jahmaya Burke, Patrick Crinnigan, Nassir Elmi, Hunter Evans, Jamie Fitzgerald, Tony Honour, Matthew Langton, Julian Mika, Jake Paul, Michael Pringle, Dean Rosenthal, Tony Teegan, Damilola Thomas, Joel Thomas.

Sunday 12th February - Ruislip Manor 1 Hendon 4

The under 13s are now just one step away from the league title following their 4-1 win at Ruislip Manor this afternoon. Our youngest team took the lead in the 22nd minute through Nasser Elmi, and the same player doubled the lead less than a minute later. However, the first half performance was scrappy, but this improved in the second half as a goal from Zack Amankriah, his first for the club, and the hat-trick goal from Nasser Elmi, taking his tally to 37 for the season. Unfortunately a solid defensive performance was marred by a last minute consolation for the home side, but manager John Creith was delighted with the result and named midfielder Ryan Brennan as his man of the match.

Sunday 5th February - Springfield 2 Hendon 4

Hendon Under-13s completed a Harrow Youth League Division Two double when they enjoyed a second consecutive Sunday morning victory over Springfield. If last week had been a come-from-behind struggle, then this was much more straightforward even if the margin of victory was less. Nassir Elmi opened the scoring after 25 minutes, but parity was restored six minutes later. There was still time before the interval for Elmi to give Hendon their second lead and, after two minutes after the break, Elmi completed his hat-trick. It was effectively a 12-minute hat-trick for the prolific Elmi. Julian Mika added a fourth for Hendon after 39 minutes and although Springfield cut into Hendon's lead after 47 minutes, they could get no closer. "We played very well today," said delighted manager John Creith. "We are top of the league and playing well. You can’t ask for more than that. Man of the match was Julian Mika for the second straight game. He was excellent."

Sunday 29th January - Hendon 4 Springfield 1

Hendon Under-13s - missing a number of key players through injury and illness - had something of an off-day, at least in front of goal, before they finally saw off the determined challnge from Springfield at Copthall on Sunday morning. Hendon trailed to a 13th-minute goal and proceeded to miss a hatful of chances before half-time and went into the break trailing by that solitary goal. Manager John Creith got his point over to the team in simple fashion and it took just 16 minutes for the team to get all the goals they neeed for victory. Damilola Thomas got the ball rolling three minutes after the resumption. Three minutes later it was Julian Mika who was on target. After another break of a similar time elapsed before Nassir Elmi gave Hendon some breathing space, and after 51 minutes, Mika scored his second to make it 4-1 and that was the way the match ended. "Julian Mika came on at half-time," said Mr Creith, "and he changed the game. He deserved was our man of the match, but I must also give special mention to our emergency goalkeeper Jake Paul, who made a number of excellent saves, one especially, at 1-0 down, that kept us in the game."

Sunday 22nd January - North Greenford United 0 Hendon 3

Hendon Under-13s got back to winning ways with a 3-0 victory over North Greenford United on Sunday morning. It was an excellent result against one of the top teams in the division. It was a notable victory if only because neither of the team’s two top scorers, Damilola Thomas and Nassir Elmi, made it onto the scoresheet. The first to hit the target was Joe Briefel after 12 minutes. Hendon doubled their lead ten minutes before half-time when Dean Rosenthal showed a lot of bravery to score a second goal. He dived full length to reach a goalbound shot, which would almost certainly have been cleared by a defender before crossing the goal-line, but unfortunately collided with a post and had to come off injured. The decisive third goal came ten minutes into the second half and it was scored on the break by Michael Pringle. "We played really well today," said manager John Creith, "and we put last week's disappointment behind us. My man of the match was captain for the day Ryan Brennan, who was excellent in central midfield."

Sunday 15th January - Pinnstars B 3 Hendon 2

Hendon Under-13s suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Pinnstars B on Sunday morning in an enthralling top of the table clash. Manager John Creith described the match as the best they have had all season, with both goalkeepers distinguishing themselves with a number of fine saves. Hendon trailed at half-time, the only goal coming after 28 minutes, but they were level 12 minutes into the second period. Nassir Elmi was the scorer and it looked like the game might end up all-square as another 15 minutes elapsed without a change to the scoreline. There were, unfortunately, three more goals in the final seven minutes, two grabbed by the home team. Elmi's second equaliser, coming a minute after Hendon had fallen behind again, again looked to have sealed a point but a defensive lapse resulted in Pinnstars getting a third goal with less than two minutes on the clock. This time there was not long enough for Hendon to fashion another comeback. Man of the match was goalkeeper Joel Thomas.

Sunday 8th January - Hendon 9 Celtic A 4

Hendon Under-13s blew away Celtic's A squad on Sunday morning in a Harrow Youth League Division Two goal-fest at Barnet Copthall. It was hard to know if the teeming rain or the goals were coming faster, especially in the second half when nine were notched. Celtic got off to a bright start and led after seven minutes. Hendon hit back through Nassir Elmi in the 11th minute and Elmi gave Hendon the lead after 23 minutes. Damilola Thomas stretched the advantage three minutes later and he completed his brace eight minutes into the second. At this point, Hendon nodded off for a dozen minutes and, by the time, they were aware of the situation it was 4-4, Celtic having scored three times in five minutes. But Elmi decided the game almost single--handedly, because he then grabbed a personal hat-trick in five minutes. Elmi turned the trick after 58, 59 and 62 minutes to make it 7–4. Jerrel Best got in on the act with number eight in the 68th minute, but the last word belonged to Elmi, who else, as he added a ninth goal - his sixth - in the final minute. Amazingly, if the 13 goals in the game weren’t enough, Hendon also a goal in each half disallowed. "Although I am pleased we scored nine goals," said manager John Creith, "I was very unhappy that we conceded four, especially the burst of three in five minutes. We got very sloppy. I have joint men of the match today, but Nassir isn’t one of them. They were my central midfielders Alan Aberdeen and Ryan Brennan, who were both excellent."

Sunday 18th December - Pitshanger A 2 Hendon 5

Hendon Under-13s ended 2005 perfectly placed to push for promotion at the end of the season following their eighth win in nine Harrow Youth League Division Two starts, this time 5-2 away at Pitshanger "A”" Going into this fixture, Hendon were a point behind leaders Pinnstars "A", but they had already beaten them 4-2, and Pinnstars had played two more games than Hendon. The third-placed team, Springfield, have won and drawn the same number as Hendon, but lost three more times than Hendon. Hendon's goalscoring hero was Nassir Elmi, who bagged a four-timer. Elmi scored first after eight minutes, then after a Pitshanger equaliser, Elmi grabbed his second and third of the game after 23 and 27 minutes. Just before half-time Pitshanger made it 3-2, but that was as close as they got. Elmi’s fourth, on the hour, was followed five minutes later by a goal from Alan Aberdeen to complete the scoring. Manager John Creith was delighted after the game. "I don’t like kicking off in the afternoon, but if he been due to play in the morning we would have been off. Our squad was depleted today, but the players I brought in did a good job. My man of the match was not Nassir Elmi, but goalkeeper Joel Thomas, who made a number of fine saves and encouraged the defence all afternoon. Our second half performance was much better than the first because we kept clean sheet."

Sunday 11th December - Celtic A 1 Hendon 3

Hendon Under-13s continue to battle away at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory at Celtic on Sunday lunchtime. It wasn't anywhere near the sort of performance manager John Creith was satisfied with, but he was nonetheless happy to go away with all three points. Celtic "A" took the lead after three minutes, but Hendon were level after a further six minutes, Nassir Elmi finding the target. Hendon took the lead after 21 minutes, Elmi grabbing his second, but they were far from comfortable with the advantage. It was not until midway through the second half that Hendon got an insurance goal, Elmi completing his hat-trick. Getting all three goals was not enough for Elmi to earn the man of the match award. That went to left midfielder Jahmaya Burke, who was outstanding, both going forward and tracking back.

Sunday 4th December - Old Isleworthians A 5 Hendon 2

Hendon Under-13s interest in the Harrow Youth League Cup came to an end in the gloom at Old Isleworthians' as the Premier Division high-flyers won 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. Old Isleworthians took the lead after three minutes and doubled their advantage after 26 minutes. Ryan Brennan did pull a goal back just before half-time, but he also picked up a knock and had to be substituted at half-time. Almost immediately after the restart, Old Isleworthians restored their two-goal advantage, prompting manager John Creith to make two more changes. It was a decision that back-fired on him as, within a minute of making the double switch, Alan Aberdeen had to limp off injured. With only ten men, and playing against a team two divisions higher, Hendon conceded two more goals before Nassir Elmi grabbed a late consolation. "I told the boys I was really proud of them," said Mr Creith. "We lost both of our central midfielders to injury and had to play the final half-hour with ten men but we battled them all the way. My man of the match was Tony Teegan, who showed lots of passion and commitment all afternoon."

Sunday 27th November - Hendon 4 North Greenford United 3

The under 13s bounced back from their county cup defeat last weekend with a solid hardworking performance as they beat North Greenford United 4-3 in an enthralling game. After North Greenford had taken an early lead, the Greens hit back with two goals in a minute through Ryan Brennan and Nassir Elmi. North Greenford pulled a goal back to equalise at 2-2 soon afterwards, but then a quick fire brace of goals from Dean Rosenthal took Hendon into a 4-2 lead at half time. North Greenford were given a lifeline when a Hendon defender turned the ball into his own net, but the Greens worked hard to hold on to their advantage and ultimately win the game. Manager John Creith was delighted with the performance and named captain for the day Ryan Brennan as his man of the match.

Sunday 20th November - Hendon 1 Manor Youth 4

Hendon Under-13s were authors of their own misfortune in the Middlesex Youth Cup at Copthall on Sunday morning. Facing a big, tall and strong Manor Youth, Hendon tried to match their visitors in a physical way, rather than sticking to their own type and style of play. And although it paid very early dividends, it proved disastrous over the long haul. Hendon got a dream start when Damilola Thomas gave them the lead after six minutes. But their advantage lasted only three minutes, with Manor equalising very quickly. And, by the time 15 minutes had been played, Hendon were behind. It didn’t get any better in the second half as Hendon attacks were halted with monotonous regularity with the goalkeeper not being tested at all. Twice, however, Manor Youth were able to add to the their tally, after 53 and 69 minutes, to run out comfortable winners. Manager John Creith said, "We beat ourselves today. They were big and physical and we tried to match them, rather than sticking our preferred style. My man of the match was Tony Teegan on the right side of midfield. He showed great character and got stuck in when others didn’t."

Sunday 13th November - Hendon 3 Old Isleworthians B 0

Hendon Under-13s felt that there were a few old scores to be settled in their match against Old Isleworthians B at Copthall on Sunday morning. Not only had they come out on the short end of a number of controversial incidents in the reverse fixture earlier this season, they felt they had been unlucky in two defeats last season too. It all came right on this day. From the moment Nassir Elmi opened the scoring after 13 minutes, there was only going to be one winner. It took until the 49th minute for the lead to be doubled, Jahmaya Burke finding the target and Damilola Thomas hammered in the final nail in the Isleworthians' coffin with five minutes to go. Manager John Creith couldn’t contain his glee as he said, "We finally put them to rest. Revenge is sweet!! On a serious note, if it wasn’t for their goalkeeper it would have been many, many more. He made some incredible saves. My man of the match was Julian Mika. He was superb on he right side of midfield"

Sunday 6th November - Hendon 2 Headstone Manor A 0

Hendon Under-13s were given a really difficult tie in their opening match of the Harrow Youth League Cup, a game against unbeaten Division One leaders, Headstone Manor A. But Hendon, currently leading Division Two, played their hearts out and, in a stirring defensive performance, produced a superb 2-0 victory. Manor had the better of the first half, but could not do much with all the pressure they applied. The closest either team came to scoring the in first half was an effort from a Headstone corner which Jake Paul cleared off the line. The breakthrough came ten minutes into the second half when Nassir Elmi attacked down the wing, crossed into the penalty area and Dean Rosenthal applied the coup de grace with a tap-in from close range. The game remained in the balance until stoppage time when the most acute of angles, Elmi somehow squeezed the ball into the net to make it 2-0. "We were absolutely brilliant," gushed a delighted John Creith after the match. "Our defence was absolutely outstanding against a team not only from a division above us, but also one which was undefeated. Not one player deserved the man of the match today, they all did."

Sunday 30th October - Hendon 8 Pitshanger A 5

Hendon Under-13s kept their nerve to win a crazy Harrow Youth League match at Copthall on Sunday morning. They conceded five goals, yet still came out on top by three. Last week, it took 40 seconds for the team to take the lead; this week it was just 33 as Nassir Elmi opened his account for the day. But Pitshanger replied strongly and equalised after nine minutes. Two minutes later, they took the lead, but Elmi bagged his second after 17 minutes to restore parity. Elmi completed his hat-trick after 25 minutes. That was the way it stayed until half-time. Jake Paul, who had scored an own goal earlier, atoned for this error by making it 4-2 three minutes into the second half. But Pitshanger showed resilience in coming back with a goal two minutes later. Johmaya Burke and Elmi (his fourth of the day) scored twice in two minutes to give Hendon some much needed breathing space, because Pitshanger responded in kind, with two in four minutes to make it 6-5 at the hour mark. The resistance was finally broken by Damilola Thomas. He scored after 61 minutes and Thomas then made absolutely sure of the points with his second goal four minutes from the end. "We got three points today," said manager John Creith, "but we were very poor defensively as a unit. To let in five goals in not what I wanted, but we did score eight. My man of the match had to be Nassir Elmi."

Sunday 23rd October - Hendon 6 Ruislip Manor 1

Hendon Under-13s never looked back after scoring twice in the opening five minutes of their Harrow Youth League match at Copthall on Sunday morning. Damilola Thomas opened the scoring after just 40 seconds and the advantage was doubled after five minutes when Nassir Elmi got his first goal. Although Ruislip Manor pulled a goal back after nine minutes, Hendon restored their two-goal advantage after a quarter of an hour when Michael Pringle got his name on the scoresheet. Thomas grabbed his second of the day 12 minutes before half-time and Hendon went into the break comfortably ahead. The second half was dominated by the Greens and Elmi added his second goal before Jerrel Best completed the scoring in the final six minutes. "This was a good overall performance," said manager John Creith, "and there's plenty more to come. We had to use a stand-in goalkeeper this morning and Jamie Fitzgerald had a very solid game between the posts. But the joint men of the match today were the two full-backs, Jake Paul and Luke Alen, who were outstanding both in defence and going forward."

Sunday 9th October - Hendon 14 Ruislip Town A 1

Hendon Under-13s brought in a new player in Nassir Elmi and the lad showed his thanks by scoring five times and picking up the man of the match award into the bargain. Elmi scored after four and twelve minutes, followed by Damilola Thomas after a quarter of an hour and Jamie Fitzgerald, three minutes later. Elmi completed his hat-trick before the 20 minute mark had been passed. Luke Allen and Alan Aberdeen made six and seven with goals after 22 and 29 minutes, respectively. Just before a half-time a moment of defensive slackness gifted Ruislip Town a penalty, which they duly converted, but that was the high spot of their day. Thomas resumed the rout in the opening minute of the second half, before an own goal came after 48 minutes. In the 55th minute, Thomas completed his hat-trick and No.11 came courtesy of substitute Dean Rosenthal, two minutes later. They were the first two goals in a closing burst of five goals in seven minutes. Elmi grabbed his fourth, followed, almost immediately by Thomas getting his four-timer and Elmi rounded off the scoring with his fifth goal. "This was an outstanding performance," purred manager John Creith. It was a really good professional performance, especially in the second half when we were so far ahead and could have coasted."

Sunday 25th September - Hendon 4 Pinnstars B 2

The under 13's picked up their first win of the season on Sunday beating Pinnstars B 4-2 at Copthall. Having gone behind to an early goal, Dean Rosenthal equalised midway through the first half. The second goal came just 32 seconds into the second half when Damilola Thomas drove the ball home. Ryan Brennan then scored the goal of the game with a fierce drive from 25 yards before Jake Paul scored the fourth when he forced the ball home from close range from a corner. Although Pinnstars scored a second the under 13's held on comfortably to record their first win of the season.

Sunday 18th September - Old Isleworthians B 2 Hendon 0

Hendon Under-13s returned from their match with Old Isleworthians B squad absolutely furious with the match officials following their 2-0 defeat on Sunday afternoon. Trailing to a 23rd minute goal, Hendon were sure they should have been awarded a penalty when a defender clearly handled the ball inside his own penalty area. The official however saw nothing untoward and allowed play to continue. Then, in the 69th minute, a referee's assistant was in line with play as he flagged for offside. The referee, however, not up with play, overruled him and allowed play to continue and Old Isleworthians grabbed a second and decisive goal. "I am livid," stormed manager John Creith after the game. "All the vital decisions went against us: it was a very clear penalty, even their assistant referee half-flagged for it, then our assistant referee was in line with play and gave an offside but it was ignored. We were definitely worth a point today. My man of the match was Tony Teegan."

Monday 11th July - New season approaches

The under 13s are back in training ahead of the new campaign having just missed out on promotion to Division One of the Harrow Youth League. They will be hoping to continue to build under the leadership of John Creith.
