Wednesday 12th April - Windsor & Eton 3 Hendon 0

A much weaker squad travelled to Windsor on Wednesday evening and they were no match for the Royalists who ran out easy winners, scoring twice in the first half and once in the second.

Monday 10th April - Hendon 5 Harrow Borough 2

The reserves won their third game in a row beating Harrow Borough 5-2 this evening at Claremont Road. Another strong side was fielded, including the returning Jimmy Froud and René Street along with trialist Andrew Julius, a defender previously with Redbridge. The Greens took an early lead through the returning René Street and it was soon doubled by Danny Edwards. There was bad news for the Greens midway through the half Dave King picked up a back injury and he was replaced in goal by defender Ricky Pattenden. Harrow took advantage and went on to pull the game back level by half time. Blaise O'Brien restored the lead four minutes into the second half with a delicate chip, Danny Edwards scored his second of the night on the hour mark, and Jimmy Froud completed the scoring three minutes later with a fine lob. Both O'Brien's and Froud's goals were set up by 25 yard headers out of midfield by Lee O'Leary.

Team : King (Pattenden 20), Julius, Murphy, Parker, Street, Leach, Busby, O'Leary (Lopes 64), Edwards, O'Brien (Froud 61), Ake.

Monday 3rd April - Hendon 2 Windsor & Eton 0

The best chance of a goalless first half fell to Jamie Busby who saw his 35th minute shot well saved by the Windsor keeper. The Greens took control in the second half and took the lead when Andy Cook set up Blaise O'Brien in the 69th minute. The second goal came five minutes from the end when Sofiane Mehdi headed the ball home after Danny Edwards had hit the bar.

Team : King, Julius, Murphy, Pattenden, Parker, J.Burgess, Busby, Hunt (Mapes 55), Cook (Edwards 70), O'Brien, Okoro (Mehdi 77).

Wednesday 29th March - Harrow Borough 1 Hendon 3

A strong reserve line up managed for the night by Freddie Hyatt and Iain Duncan and featuring ten first team regulars, ran out 3-1 winners at Harrow Borough this evening. Following a goalless first half, Ross Pickett opened the scoring in the 64th minute when he headed home a cross from Blaise O'Brien. Four minutes later, Danny Edwards was fouled in the box, and O'Brien stepped up to convert his second spot kick in a week. The third goal came in the 74th minute when Pickett fired a screaming shot into the corner of the net. Harrow pulled a goal back with ten minutes to go, but the Greens held on for a comfortable win

Team : King, Murphy (Griffiths 59), Busby, Parker, Cooper, Leach (Pattenden 76), Hunt, Mapes, Watson (Edwards 64), O'Brien, Pickett. Unused sub : J.Burgess.

Saturday 18th February - Salisbury City 2 Hendon 1

Hendon Reserves made their longest trip for a competitive match in more than 30 years on Saturday, when they travelled to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium, Salisbury, to take on the Capital League division leaders. And they came oh so close to ending Salisbury City's perfect record in the division, before falling 2-1. In the first half, Hendon were on top, but they had only Bradley Bubb’s goal, after 38 minutes, to show for it. After the break Salisbury upped the tempo and although they forced some pressure, Hendon were able to hold on until the 64th minute, when the hosts snatched an equaliser. Five minutes later Salisbury scored again, and although Hendon tried hard to get back into the game, they couldn’t find a way past the stern home rearguard. "We didn’t play very well," admitted manager Mark Crawford. "We knew it and their bench knew it too, this was a game they should have lost. But we didn’t take our chances. Man of the match was Francois Gabbidon"

Wednesday 15th March - Hendon 2 Berkhamsted Town 2

Hendon Reserves fought back from 2–0 down to take a well-deserved point against Berkhamsted Town at Claremont Road on Wednesday night. Trailing to goals after 30 and 52 minutes, they began the fightback almost immediately after conceding the second goal. In the 55th minute, a free-kick from Conor Carroll was headed home by Adilson Lopes. With 18 minutes to go, Lopes got the equaliser, this time with an 18-yard strike. Danny Edwards came on as a substitute and he nearly snatched a winner in the last ten minutes, but he watched his effort bounce off a post. In a battling performance, the man of the match accolades went to George Mapes, the younger brother of on-loan midfielder Charlie. With manager Mark Crawford unavailable, John Creith took the team and said, "We came back very well from 2–0 and should have won it late on. But I am pleased we got a point"

Team: Kambila, Griffiths, Carroll, Pattenden, Gabbidon, G.Mapes, Ake (Mohammed, 85), O’Callaghan (Edwards, 60), Busby, Graham, Lopes. Unused subs: Adjewkwei, Morris, Peart.

Wednesday 1st February - Berkhamsted Town 1 Hendon 2

After a long break, the reserves returned to action with a 2-1 win at Berkhamsted Town. The Greens took the lead in the 8th minute through Danny Edwards but were soon hauled back as Berkhamsted equalised five minutes later. However, a good performance was rewarded in the final minute when Stephan Chambers-Bignall scored the winner.

Wednesday 21st December - Yeading 3 Hendon 4

Hendon Reserves picked up their first win of the season as they ran out 4-3 winners at Yeading. Jimmy Froud opened the scoring in the 12th minute, before trialist Dean Sylvester went on a mazy run through the Yeading defence and fired the ball into the net to double the lead six minutes later. Yeading came back into the game with goals in the 40th and 45th minutes to make the half time score 2-2. Danny Julienne drove the ball home in the 64th minute to restore the lead, and just two minutes later Francois Gabbidon headed the ball home off a defender to make the score 4-2. Yeading pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute but the Greens were able to hold on for the three points much to the delight of managers Mark Crawford and John Creith.

Team: Lewis, Griffiths, Peart, Carroll, Gabbidon, Fellows, Julienne, Sylvester, Ngoyi, Froud, Edwards. Used subs: Adjekwei, Chambers-Bignall. Unused sub : Braganza

Wednesday 14th December - Hendon 1 Dulwich Hamlet 3

Hendon Reserves slipped up to a 3-1 defeat at home to Dulwich Hamlet, despite the presence of John Frendo in attack. They were a goal down after 20 minutes, but Dulwich added to their lead four minutes after half-time. Frendo pulled a goal back after before 58 minutes Dulwich got their third goal with 13 minutes remaining. The Greens did have two goals disallowed, one at 10 minutes and the other at 31 minutes.

Team: Lewis, Griffiths, Ellis, Carroll, Gabbidon, Peart, Lopes, Edwards, Frendo, Froud, Bevis. Used subs: Mohammed, Nono, Chambers-Bignall. Unused subs : Morris, Adjekwei

Wednesday 16th November - Farnborough Town 2 Hendon 1

Hendon Reserves, complete with Dave King, Marvyn Watson, Danny Murphy and Jimmy Froud narrowly went down to Farnborough Town at the Aimita Stadium on Wednesday night. The hosts took the lead in the opening ten minutes and were able to hang on until half-time, although Hendon certainly didn’t catch any breaks on a number of occasions. There were good performances from a number of players, including trialists James Wiseman, James Rugby and John Mighty. However, with a couple of minutes to go, Farnborough added a second goal. Hendon hit back almost immediately, through Danny Edwards, but there wasn't enough time for the Dons to grab a second. "We played OK," said John Creith, who took the team with first team boss Gary McCann, "but we didn’t get any luck when it came to crucial moments."

Team: King, Watson, Murphy, Carroll, Bevis, Lopes, Rugby, Mighty, Wiseman, Froud, Edwards. Used subs: Bower, Kingsley, Prendergass. Unused sub : Anderson

Wednesday 2nd November - Hendon 0 Yeading 1

On Wednesday night, a mixed Reserve squad slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to a very young Yeading outfit. The Greens created quite a few chances, but they weren’t taken and when Yeading sniffed an opening, after 25 minutes, they took full advantage. A corner kick was not well defended and Dave King made a fine save to keep out the original effort. However, no one from the defence was able to stop the follow up being knocked into the almost unguarded goal. In the second half, Hendon brought on a couple of players who have been around the professional game, including Phil Holder, the son of the former Tottenham player and Brentford manager of the same name and the nephew of a former Hendon player of the 1970s, Denis Holder. He slotted in very well and showed some excellent touches. Other players who pleased the bench were full-backs Chad Griffiths and James Wiseman, while Adilson Lopes and Danny Edwards both looked good in more attacking positions.

Team : King, Griffiths, Wiseman, Carroll, Gabbidon, Pickett, Froud, Hunt, Bevis, Aiteouakrim, Lariata. Used subs : Holder, Lopes, Edwards. Unused subs : Kambila, Peart

Wednesday 5th October - Dulwich Hamlet 1 Hendon 0

A young reserve line up went down to a single goal at Dulwich Hamlet. Having held the home side off for nearly the full game, the goal was conceded in the 89th minute meaning that the reserves lost their first league game of the season.

Team : Kambila, Griffiths, Ellis, Carroll, Gabbidon, Peart, Brennan (Ayala), Cortez, Ankrah (Kingsley), Nelson (Efobi), Toku. Unused subs : Chambers-Bignall, Nono.

Wednesday 14th September - Chesham United 1 Hendon 1

An experienced reserve side picked up a point in their opening league game this evening at Chesham United in a 1-1 draw. All ten outfield starters have made first team appearances this season but they were unable to find a breakthrough in the first half. It was Chesham who took the lead early in the second half but on the hour mark Kieran Gallagher had a chance to equalise but he missed the spot kick awarded after Youness Nabil was pulled down. However, Gallagher made amends ten minutes later with a fine strike from the edge of the area. Both sides had half chances to win the game, but a draw was probably the right result. Both Gary McCann and Andy Pape were disappointed with some of the senior players as was reserve team manager Mark Crawford.

Team : Lewis, Watson, Duncan, O'Sullivan, Burgess, Julienne, Judge, Cook (Carroll 70), Froud (El-Haddad 55), Nabil, Gallagher (Griffiths 80). Unused subs : Liban, Mohammed.

Wednesday 31st August - Thurrock 9 Hendon 0

In a game described as joint manager John Creith as "boys against men" the reserves were given a rude awakening to the standard in the Capital League as a young side were hammered 9-0 by Thurrock in the League Cup. Thurrock, who were fielding seven members of their first team, were 4-0 ahead at half time, and went on to score five more in the second half. The management will be hoping for much better things when they open their league campaign in a fortnight against Chesham United.

Team : Kambila, Carroll, Peart, Meha, Liban, Mohammed, Ayala, O'Sullivan, Kingsley, Duku, Chambers-Bignall. Subs : Lopez, Cortez, Nono, Adjekwei, Wilson.

Saturday 14th August - Hounslow Borough 4 Hendon 1

on Saturday afternoon, manager Mark Crawford's only comment, "We were terrible," summed up a 4–1 reverseal at Hounslow Borough. Trailing by three goals at half-time a goal from Omar Bakali was little more than a consolation, especially when Hounslow scored again near the end.

Wednesday 10th August - Harefield United 3 Hendon 2

The reserves lost 3-2 at Harefield United last night. The first half was very poor and the Greens were deservedly 2-0 down at half time. However, things were much improved in the second half and goals from Ronald Mpangwie and Tiago Cortez brought the Greens on level terms. The winning goal came in the last minute when a Harefield player fired home something of a wonder goal.

Saturday 6th August - AFC Wimbledon 1 Hendon 2

The reserves made the trip to play AFC Wimbledon this morning and went down to a 2-1 defeat, although the performance was much more promising than in previous games. The Wombles took the lead in the 12th minute through Sonny Farr, but the Greens came back into the game during the first half. Their efforts were rewarded in the 65th minute when Daniel Duku fired the ball home for an equaliser, but within ten minutes the home side were back in front thanks to Mark King. Manager Mark Crawford was much happier with the performance, although there is still quite a bit of work to do as he prepares the squad for the new season.

Wednesday 3rd August - Ealing 0 Hendon 1

The reserves returned to winning ways with a 1-0 win at Ealing, the only goal coming from Apacha Ayala once again.

Saturday 30th July - Brook House 2 Hendon 1

The reserves suffered the first defeat of their pre-season campaign as they went down 2-1 at Brook House. The home side took the lead in the first half, before Apacha Ayala equalised 10 minutes into the second period. The winner game fifteen minutes from time. It was a much improved performance from the reserves, the best of pre-season so far despite the result.

Saturday 23rd July - Hendon 2 Wealdstone 1

On Saturday, at Wembley, Hendon repeated their 2–1 scoreline, this time against Harrow Borough’s second string. Once again, Hendon had the lead at half-time, this time courtesy of Papa AGYEMANG’s goal, but Harrow Borough drew level six minutes after half-time. The winner came in the last few minutes, Anton LEWIS being brought down for a penalty and Omar BAKALI converting the resulting spot-kick.

Team: Kambila, Liban, Peart, Carroll, Brown, Lewis, Bouchnak, Bakali, Brennan, Agyemang, Zort. Subs (all used): Hunt, O’Carroll, Meha, Nono, Hammond, Catuiath.

Tuesday 19th July - Clapton 1 Hendon 2

The reserves put in a good performance against Clapton's first team this evening as they ran out 2-1 winners. The line up was mostly made up of members of last year's under 18 and under 16 teams, and they more than matched their more senior opponents in terms of strength and skill. The first goal came in the 11th minute when Christian Henao knocked the ball home after the Clapton keeper had kicked the ball against one of his defenders. The lead was doubled two minutes into the second half when captain Connor Carroll headed home from a long throw. Clapton were awarded a penalty with about ten minutes to go, but Siki Kambala made a good save with his feet before the home side scored their consolation with a scrambled effort shortly before the final whistle. Managers Mark Crawford and John Creith were delighted with the performance but both admitted that there was lots of work to do before the start of the season in a few weeks time.

Team : Siki Kambala, Matthew Peart, James Dabengwa, Connor Carroll, Martin Westcott, Apacha Ayala, Eddie Mohammed, Otis Kingsley, Christian Henao, Bradley Bubb, Jake Brennan. Subs : Marcel Byfield, Mohammed Liban, Michael Creith, Marvin Tabi, Narcisse Nono.

Monday 11th July - Season 2005/06 approaches

With the new season rapidly approaching, new reserve team managers Mark Crawford and John Creith are looking forward to the challenge ahead. They would both be delighted to see as many supporters at their games as possible.
