The Under 15's missed out on the chance to win a cup double when they lost 1-0 to Pinner United in the Harrow Youth League Supplementary Cup Final. Having finished runners up to them in the League, Hendon were keen to get one over their rivals.
However, all Pinner needed was a goal in the 19th minute, when Scott Devonshire, son of former England International and current Maidenhead United manager Alan, curled a free kick just under the crossbar. Shortly before the goal Pinner had a goal disallowed for offside and Mohammed Kemokai had shot just wide for Hendon. Daniel Llewellyn missed when he sidefooted the ball just wide of the goal from 7 yards out after Kemokai had made a good break on the right, and Pinner missed two good chances before half time, the second of which brought a superb save from Hendon goalkeeper Todd Allison.
On the stroke of half time Gregory Ngoyi, hit a snapshot which smashed off the underside of the bar and bounced away to safety. Hendon were on top for much of the 2nd half but wasted a host of chances. An effort from Ngoyi was cleared off the line, while in the 70th minute, Hendon were awarded a fortuitous penalty for a push on the edge of the area. Llewellyn stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way, but the ball hit the outside of the post and bounced away. In stoppage time Ngoyi hit the bar, but by then it was clear that Hendon would not score even if Pinner left the pitch.
Hendons Man of the Match, chosen by Alan Devonshire, was Daniel Llewellyn, with Gregory Ngoyi next best.
Team : Todd Allison, Carl Blackwood (Patrick DeBarr 67), Edward Border (Stacey Dover HT), Cruz Mentore, Daniel Blanchette, Mohammed Kemokai, Aaron McLeish, Daniel Johnson, Daniel Llewellyn, Junior Jimbah (Jimmy Manito HT), Gregory Ngoyi.
Monday 06th May - Hendon FC League Cup Winners 2001/2002
The Under 15's continued their successful season by winning the Harrow Youth League Cup Final courtesy of a second minute goal from Gregory Ngoyi, who was set up by a first class ball from midfielder and England squad member Daniel Llewellyn. The goal turned out to be enough, especially as it looked like goalkeeper Todd Allison was just not going to be beaten despite Belmont United having perhaps some of the better chances. Ngoyi had a shot fly just over the bar, and another hit the woodwork and bounced down onto the line and was scrambled away to safety. Manager Lou Llewellyn was ecstatic at the end of the game as were the players and supporters. First team manager Dave Anderson was also present at the game, and was impressed with the quality of the goal that turned out to be the winner.
Team : Todd Allison, Cruz Mentore, Carl Blackwood, Edward Border (Stacey Dover 75), Daniel Blanchette, Daniel Johnson, Mohamad Kemukai, Daniel Llewellyn, Jimmy Manito, Junior Jimbah (Simon Johnson 58 [Albert Suleyman 80]), Gregory Ngoyi. Unused subs : Aaron Nash-Barker, Patrick De-Barr.
Sunday 28th April - Belmont United A 3 Hendon 4
Hendon Under-15s won through to the Final of the Harrow Youth League
Supplementary Cup the hard way, throwing away the lead 3 times before
finally prevailing in a 7-goal thriller. The match was a dress-rehearsal
for the League Cup Final, being played at North Greenford United FC at
12.00 noon on Bank Holiday Monday, 6 May. In the semi-final of the
Supplementary Cup, played at Belmont, Hendon took the lead in the first
minute thanks to a magnificent strike by Junior JIMBAH at the near post.
In
the 16th minute, Belmont equalised, only for Gregory NGOYI to restore
Hendon's lead, 4 minutes later. The lead lasted only 3 minutes this time,
but parity survived even less. Only 2 minutes later, NGOYI bagged his
second of the game to give Hendon a 3-2 lead which lasted until 10 minutes
into the second half. Amazingly, despite equalising 3 times, Belmont were
level for all of 11 minutes in the match because, 5 minutes after making
it
3-3, Hendon scored what turned out to be the winner, Jimmy MANITO being
the
scorer. "Everybody played their part in this game," said a delighted
manager Richard "Lou" Llewellyn. "It was a really hard-fought game and my
man of the match was defender Stacey DOVER, who was outstanding."
Sunday 21st April - Pinner United 1 Hendon 0 Sunday 21st April - Hendon 0 Pinner United 0
Hendon Under-15s suffered a major blow to their Harrow Youth League title
aspirations when they were able to pick up only 1 point from a
double-header against main championship rivals Pinner United on Sunday
morning. A week after winning a Supplementary Cup tie 4-2 last week, the
team went into the game high on confidence, but a goal just before
half-time of the opening game was the only score and Pinner, having picked
up 3 points from the first game, were content to take just one from the
second. It was not great entertainment as Pinner played with 9 men behind
the ball at most times, and Hendon could not find a way through the massed
ranks. Man of the match in the first game was Stacey DOVER; in the second
it was Daniel LLEWELLYN. "They came to do a job," said disappointed manager
"Lou" Llewellyn, "and they did it very well. It was not pretty, but it was
very effective. Pinner were very hard and physical."
Sunday 14th April - Pinner United 1 Hendon 4
On Sunday morning, in the Supplementary Cup, Pinner United took a 2-0 lead inside 14 minutes. A minute after the second goal, NGOYI reduced the arrears, and NGOYI equalised 6 minutes before half-time. In the 51st minute, NGOYI completed his hat-trick and, 10 minutes from full-time, NGOYI made it a four-timer. Unsurprisingly, he was named man of the match, although manager Richard "Lou" Llewellyn also mentioned Patrick DeBARR in despatches.
Saturday 13th April - Belmont United B 1 Hendon 5
Hendon Under-15s faced 2 games in 2 days over the weekend and won them both in identical styles. They fell behind, equalised before half-time and won with goals from Gregory NGOYI in the second half. Against Belmont United's "B" team in the Harrow Youth League Supplementary Cup, the opening goal, after 31 minutes, was cancelled out by NGOYI's first strike 2 minutes later. NOGYI grabbed his second 17 minutes from time in the second half, before a pair of goals from Albert SULEIMAN after 68 and 70 minutes and a third for NGOYI after 79, sealed the win. Hendon's man of the match was Daniel JOHNSON, with Karl BLACKWOOD earning a special mention.
Sunday 7th April - Springfield 1 Hendon 1
Hendon Under-15s and Springfield shared 2 goals in their Harrow Youth League Supplementary Cup on Sunday afternoon, but it was the visitors who were the less satisfied with the outcome. Springfield took the lead after 30 minutes, but 5 minutes before the break, Aaron McLEISH scored an equaliser. Despite creating a host of great chances Hendon could not find another goal. Manager Richard "Lou" Llewellyn said, "It was a bad day for us. We did not take our chances despite dominating the game. Daniel LLEWELLYN was excellent, but man of the match was left back Danny BLANCHETTE."
Sunday 24th March - Hendon 0 Springfield 0
Hendon Under-15s were bogged down on a pitch with uncut grass estimated
at 6 inches high when they played Springfield on Sunday morning. This slowed up Hendon's passing game and led to an uncompromising contest that lacked a great deal of creativity. Hendon's best chance fell to Daniel Llewellyn, who hit the bar in the first half, but Hendon did waste 3 great chances in the second period. "A draw was probably the right result," admitted a disappointed Hendon manager "Lou" Llewellyn. He named Mohammed KEMOKAI as man of the match, with goalkeeper Todd ALLISON a close second.
Sunday 10th March - Hendon 3 Belmont United B 0
Hendon Under-15s got back to winning ways with a 3-0 defeat of Belmont
United "B" at Clitterhouse Playing Fields on Sunday morning. The opening goal arrived after 28 minutes when Aaron McLEISH scored, but it almost as long again for the lead to be doubled. In the 55th minute, Junior JIMBAH made it 2-0 before the goal of the game arrived with 10 minutes remaining. Daniel JOHNSON unleashed a stunning 25-yard drive that flew into the net to seal the victory. "Our defence was excellent today," enthused happy manager Richard "Lou" Llewellyn. "The conditions were very difficult but we coped well. Man of the match was one of my new signings, Stacey DOVER and Daniel JOHNSON had a fine game in midfield."
Sunday 3rd March - Hendon 0 Pinnacle 2
Hendon Under-15s went out of the Middlesex Youth Cup in disappointing
fashion on Sunday, losing 2-0 to Pinnacle. Goals after 28 and 52 minutes were enough for Pinnacle who, last season, knocked Hendon out of the same competition on a technicality. This time they were just too strong for the Greens. "It was a bad day at the office today," admitted manager Richard "Lou" Llewellyn. We could not get going and they were too strong for us. Mohammed KEMOKAI was man of the match and Cruz MENTORE also had an excellent game."
Sunday 10th February - Hendon 4 Ealing Shamrock B 0
Hendon Under-15s reached the Final of the Harrow Youth League Cup with a fine 4-0 victory over Ealing Shamrock 'B' on Sunday morning. They got off to the perfect start when Junior JIMBAH opened the scoring in the 6th minute. Only an inspired display from Ealing Shamrock's goalkeeper kept Hendon's score to one in the first half, but he was left helpless 5 minutes after the break, when the prolificGregory NGOYI doubled Hendon's advantage. It was still pretty much one-way traffic throughout the second half, but it was not until the 62nd minute that Hendon gave themselves the vital breathing space of a 3rd goal, Simon JOHNSON getting his name on the scoresheet. The victory was completed in the final minute when Daniel LLEWELLYN netted number 4. Delighted manager Richard 'Lou' Llewellyn said, "We played really well today and won very easily. It is great to reach a cup final in my first season with the club and the boys deserve great credit. Ealing Shamrock's goalkeeper is the best in the Harrow Youth League and he kept them in the game. Our midfield was outstanding, especially Daniel JOHNSON and Mohammed KEMOKAI, but man of the match was Aaron McLEISH."
Sunday 3rd February - Reno Rovers 2 Hendon 0
Hendon Under-15s suffered a shock reverse in the Harrow Youth League Premier Division on Sunday morning. A goal down after 28 minutes to Reno Rovers, Hendon just could not get back into the game and conceded a second early in the second half. With 20 minutes to go, they thought they had given themselves a lifeline when Junior Jimbah had the ball in the Reno net, but the referee decided a collision between the home goalkeeper and one of his defenders had been caused by a Hendon player - although there were none in the vicinity - so he disallowed it. "It was a bad day at the office," admitted a philosophical Richard Llewellyn. "We had a couple of players injured and unavailable and another was taken ill on the pitch, but we did not play well. Man of the match today was Mohammed KEMOKAI, with goalkeeper Todd ALLISON next best."
Sunday 20th January - Pinner United 0 Hendon 5
Hendon Under-15s will carry the flag for the club in the semi-finals of the Middlesex County Youth Cup following their 5-0 quarter-final victory at Pinner United on Sunday morning. The team got off to a great start when
Gregory NGOYI opened the scoring in the 4th minute and the lead was doubled in the 10th minute through Aaron McLEISH. Two minutes before half-time Junior JIMBAH made it 3-0. Magnificent defending by Hendon limited Pinner United to just 2 attempts on goal in the 80 minutes, while Hendon stretched their lead, with NGOYI's second goal, after 54 minutes. Seven minutes from time, the victory was wrapped up by Daniel JOHNSON. "The whole team was exceptional today," enthused manager Richard Llewellyn. "We controlled the
midfield and sealed up the defence. Man of the match was Daniel LLEWELLYN, who was brilliant in midfield, setting up 3 of the goals and creating a number of other chances."
Sunday 6th January - Springfield 1 Hendon 3
Hendon Under-15s got the New Year off to a winning start with 3-1 Harrow Youth League Premier Division victory at Springfield on Sunday morning. The first half saw Hendon dominate, but they could not find their way past the Springfield goalkeeper who was in inspired form. He kept out 6 or 7 goalbound efforts with magnificent saves. Nine minutes into the second half, Hendon made the breakthrough with a goal from Gregory NGOYI. In the 57th minute, Jimmy MANITO made it 2-0 and, with 17 minutes remaining, Hendon made the game safe with a second goal from NGOYI. Springfield scored a late consolation in the last couple of minutes. "We played well today in difficult conditions," said manager Richard Llewellyn. "With holidays and other absences we had the bare 11, but we got away with it. Gregory NGOYI was man of the match. Not only did he hold the ball up really well, he scored two good goals."
Sunday 16th December - Hendon 4 Park View Wanderers 3
Hendon Under-15s reached the quarter-final of the Middlesex Youth Cup with a defeat of Park View Wanderers at Clitterhouse Playing Fields on Sunday morning. Park View made a great start and took the lead after just 4 minutes. They held it 24 minutes, until Junior JIMBAH equalised. There was no addition to the score until 2 minutes into the second half, when JIMBAH scored his second goal. After 58 minutes, JIMBAH completed his hat-trick to give Hendon some breathing space. A flurry of 3 goals in 4 minutes in the final quarter of an hour made things very interesting. First JIMBAH made it 4-1, but a horrible defensive slip and and well-taken goal suddenly made
it 4-3. For all their efforts - they had two goals disallowed - Park View could not find an equaliser to force extra time, so Hendon went through. Manager Richard Llewellyn said, "We played well, but wasted a number of chances. Midfielder Mohammed KEMOKAI was the man of the match today; he was outstanding. There was a superb performance from defender Patrick DE BARR."
Sunday 9th December - Brunswick 3 Hendon 5
Hendon Under-15s came away from Brunswick with a 5-3 Harrow Youth League victory, but they could not have made it much harder for themselves. It took 35 minutes for the deadlock to be broken, Gregory NGOYI opening the
scoring. Have got one goal just before half-time, they got another in the last minute of the half, NGOYI bagging his second. Three minutes after the break, Junior JIMBAHmade it 3-0 but, almost immediately, the game changed. Brunswick pulled a goal back within a minute, made it 3-2 after 61 minutes and equalised 2 minutes later. However, with 5 minutes to go JIMBAH score his second and, in the last minute, NGOYI completed his hat-trick. "NGOYI was excellent today and deserved to be man of the match," said manager
Richard Llewellyn. "Most players did not have a good day, but I suppose they showed great commitment and heart in coming back after conceding 3 goals in 19 minutes."
Sunday 2nd December - Reno Rovers 2 Hendon 3 (aet)
Hendon Under-15s recovered from the shock of going 2-0 down in the opening 4 minutes to record a 3-2 extra-time victory over Reno Rovers in the Harrow Youth League Cup on Sunday morning. Reno held the lead for over an hour and it was not until 15 minutes that Hendon finally got back into the game. In the 65th minute, Daniel LLEWELLYN made it 2-1 and 5 minutes later Gregory NGOYI snatched the equaliser to send the game into extra time. On the stroke of half-time of extra-time, LLEWELLYN struck again, this time from a free-kick and it was enough to send Hendon into the next round. "We were asleep in the first half," admitted manager Richard Llewellyn, "but we came back well. Daniel LLEWELLYN was outstanding in midfield, but the man of the match was Todd ALLISON, our goalkeeper, and that tells you something."
Sunday 25th November - Hendon 11 Acton Ealing Whistlers 0
Hendon Under-15s ran riot in the final 25 minutes, turning a 3-0 lead into an 11-0 rout. There was no hint of what was to come as Aaron NASH-BARKER (13 minutes) and Daniel JOHNSON (17) gave Hendon a first half cushion. JOHNSON nabbed his 2nd goal 6 minutes after the break, but the deluge came from the 55th minute. Junior JIMBAH (55), JOHNSON (his hat-trick, 58), JIMBAH (64), JOHNSON (66), JIMBAH (72), Daniel LLEWELLYN (75), Jimmy MANITO (78) and Gregory NGOYI (80) all scored to make it a miserable morning for Acton. Hendon manager Richard Llewellyn said, "We were flat in the first half, but my half-time talk had the desired effect. Man of the match was Aaron McLEISH."
Sunday 18th November - Wealdstone Juniors 0 Hendon 7
Hendon Under-15s brushed aside the challenge from Wealdstone Juniors in the Middlesex Youth Cup at Broadfields on Sunday afternoon with a 7-0 victory. Mo KEMOKAI opened the scoring after 13 minutes, but it took almost 15 more
minutes for the lead to be doubled, Simon JOHNSON getting the second. Just before half-time Aaron McLEISH gave Hendon a 3-goal cushion, but a burst of 3 goals in 5 second-half minutes ensured there would be no alarms. Jimmy MANITO started the run after 54 minutes, followed by Junior JIMBAH two minutes later and McLEISH in the 59th minute. Six minutes later, Wealdstone were awarded a penalty but Todd ALLISON made a brilliant save to keep out the spot-kick. With 5 minutes to go, MANITO ended the rout with No. 7. "We
dominated the game from midfield," said happy coach Richard Llewellyn. "Daniel JOHNSON and Daniel LLEWELLYN were superb, but the man of the match was our right back Ed BORDER."
Sunday 11th November - Hendon 7 Reno Rovers 1
Hendon Under-15s scored a comfortable victory over Reno Rovers at Clitterhouse Playing Fields on Sunday morning. Junior JIMBAH opened the
scoring after just 6 minutes and the lead was doubled by Gregory NGOYI, who converted a penalty after 17 minutes. Five minutes before half time, Aaron McLEISH made it 3-0 to confirm Hendon's superiority. During the interval, manager Richard Llewellyn made three changes and two of the substitutes responded with goals inside 7 minutes. After 45 minutes, Aaron NASH-BARKER got on the scoresheet, joined 2 minutes later by fellow sub Jimmy MANITO. Midway through the second half NGOYI scored his second, but Hendon conceded
a penalty with 12 minutes remaining. In the 70th minute, NGOYI completed his hat-trick and Hendon's 7th goal of the morning. "Our goalkeeper and midfield were outstanding today," said a delighted Mr Llewellyn. "My man of the match was Mohammed KEMOKIAN in midfield."

Hendon Under-15s turned on the style in the second half of this Harrow Youth League match to record a 3-0 victory over Belmont United on Sunday morning. Ten minutes after half-time of goalless game, a Belmont defender
was adjudged to have handled the ball in his own penalty area and Daniel LLEWELLYN converted the spot kick. Ten minutes later, the lead was doubled as Aaron McLEISH scored. The win was sealed five minutes later, what Junior JIMBAH netted No. 3. Manager Richard Llewellyn was delighted with the overall team performance, saying, "It was an outstanding performance from the whole team. Our defending was excellent when it had to be and everybody contributed. My man of the match was Patrick DeBARR.

Three minutes later, JIMBAH scored his second as Hendon moved into cruise
control. Midway through the half, Daniel JOHNSON made it 7-0, and the scoring was completed by Mo KEMOKAI, two minutes from time. Man of the match was Cruz MENTORE.
Monday 1st October - Hendon 1 Belmont United A 2
Hendon Under-15s' great start to the season came to a juddering halt at Clitterhouse Playing Fields on Sunday morning as Belmont United "A" took advantage of some terrible finishing to register a shock 2-1 victory. It
seemed as if Hendon were on track when Aaron McLeish gave them a 17th-minute lead. However, a succession of missed chances kept Belmont in the game and they equalised with 14 minutes to go. They snatched a shock winner 7 minutes later when Cruz Mentore put through his own goal. "This is the worst to lose a game," moaned manager Richard Llewellyn. "We had 5 one-on-ones, but couldn't score with any of the them. Our man of the match was goalkeeper Todd ALLISON."
Tuesday 25th September - Belmont United B 1 Hendon 6
Hendon Under-15s continued their impressive start to the season with a 6-1 defeat of Belmont United "B" on Sunday morning. With 2 minutes remaining, Mo KEMOKAI scored No. 6 to round off a successful morning's work. Manager Richard Llewellyn said, "The boys are playing very well at the moment. JIMBAH then put Hendon back in front in the 58th minute, and the final goal came in the 66th minute through Jimmy MARITO. Manager Richard Llewellyn said: "Although we played well, I was very disappointed with our finishing. It was woeful. We failed to capitalise on ten one on one situations. However, I would like to name Carl BLACKWOOD as my man of the match as he played superbly."
Monday 10th September - Hampstead 2 Hendon 10
Hendon Under-15s got their Harrow Youth League Premier Division season off to a fine start with a 10-2 defeat at new club Hampstead on Sunday morning. The former Boreham Wood Youth League champions were overrun, with new boy
