Hendon began their pre-season preparations on a warm lunchtime at Merchant Taylors School in Northwood with a 2-1 win over Northwood FC. In what was very much a training game, which consisted of 4 periods of 30 minutes, all three goals came in the third period. Northwood took the lead with a 30 yard free kick courtesy of Douglas Kissule, but the Greens equalised when a Danny Edwards cross was poked past the Northwood keeper by one of his defenders.
